Dantonio is 10-0 against the spread against Michigan.
We love to hate him, but that's a pretty impressive stat. We will get their best game, but I think that in Ann Arbor at night it still won't be close to enough.
September 30th, 2017 at 7:43 PM ^
They're going to play like Purdue did against us in that they will try to do what was working for them. There will be trick plays and tunnel screens galore. Don't let today's gameplan be any indicator of next week's. Different teams, different game. Keep Lewerke in the piocket and don't over-pursue across the field. There will be throwbacks and fleaflicker type plays.
September 30th, 2017 at 8:02 PM ^
If Dantonio has been prepping since last year, he must have had a bad surprise when DBrown trotted out the 3-3-5 considering Webb and Spath didn't even know that was in the can.
September 30th, 2017 at 7:28 PM ^
don't see much explosiveness outside of the qb...that wr #18 is raw but potentially dangerous
September 30th, 2017 at 7:30 PM ^
Felton Davis concerns me the most on offense. He is clearly Lewerke's favorite target. It is essential Michigan casts him out of the game. If Michigan can limit his touches, we are fine.
September 30th, 2017 at 7:35 PM ^
Felton Davis was being covered by Mario Ojemudia's brother, who was ranked in the 1000s as a recruit and was listed as a LB.

key words: "the most". I am not calling him Saquon Barkey or LJ Scott from 2015, but he looks like their best player on offense this year. I expect Don Brown to be able to neutralize him.
September 30th, 2017 at 8:10 PM ^
I wouldn't agree with that, either. The freshmen (Trishton Jackson and Rison) plus Chambers have already put in better 2017 work than Davis on the outside.
September 30th, 2017 at 8:45 PM ^
Everything is either Great/Elite or Bad/Trash, particularly when it comes to rivals. Expressing the idea that a player is decent but not an All-American or that a team is merely average just means that you've failed to express your opinion in the strongst possible langauge.

This response is absolutely awful / totally awesome.
September 30th, 2017 at 9:01 PM ^
No one is moving the ball on Michigan's defense. A few misdirection plays for purdue and then nothing. Michigan's defense will only get stronger as their offense grows. I see a young team gaining experience and not having any problems shutting teams down left on the schedule. Michigan is getting ready to start showing what overwhelming talent looks like.

Awesome.
I taught my 3 year old how to put someone in a sleeper hold.

I love this, would you care if I used this as a facebook backround for the week?

Nope

Nope

cool thanks!

MSU is better than last year and have a pulse. If our offense is missing assignments and turning over the ball, it could be tight next week.
September 30th, 2017 at 7:47 PM ^
They have as many wins as last they did the whole season right now. I know you're the most ridicuous homer on this site, but come on.
September 30th, 2017 at 9:24 PM ^
He may be tied with many others.
September 30th, 2017 at 9:28 PM ^
Just because they have more wins? I'm not sure if they're better or worse but that's a pretty flimsy argument.
October 1st, 2017 at 12:13 AM ^
Its absolutely the number one way to determine how good a team is.
October 1st, 2017 at 12:18 AM ^
It's a simple-minded form of evaluation when considering that MSU is playing a different set of teams than last year. So, no, it isn't the number one way, but you keep telling yourself that.
September 30th, 2017 at 11:15 PM ^
Helps when 2 of those wins are against MAC teams, and its debatable whether Bowling Green is even that
September 30th, 2017 at 11:49 PM ^
Sure, they may be better than last year. That does not me much though, they were horrid last year, Their offense is still extremely out matched and will not do much outside of garbage time.
October 1st, 2017 at 11:30 AM ^
are better than they were last year is not saying anything. We are better than we were last year allready, with young kids who have much higher ceilings.
September 30th, 2017 at 7:34 PM ^
That is a pretty low bar if you are comparing them to last year. MSU's offense is completely pedestrian and their defense has been untested. It may be tight to begin with, but MSU does not have the offense to win late in the forth quarter. I expect Michigan to win by 10-14 points.
September 30th, 2017 at 8:59 PM ^
They failed.
September 30th, 2017 at 7:41 PM ^
never really understood the logic of that kind of thinking." if we play really bad and they play really good we could be in trouble" you think?
September 30th, 2017 at 8:54 PM ^
We could play a pretty good game but make a couple of isolated mistakes and turn the game into a tight contest. There's a vast middle ground between a game where Michigan plays really bad and really good. Ditto MSU too.
September 30th, 2017 at 7:50 PM ^
They are better than last year, but honestly not by a lot. They'll play hard, but Michigan just looks better across the board.
September 30th, 2017 at 9:04 PM ^
If?. I'll take Michigan.
September 30th, 2017 at 9:45 PM ^

That's right. They played a good tough game yesterday. They took care of the ball on offense and played physical on defense. Iowa didn't have much yesterday to challenge them offensively, but msu played better than I thought they would. They are 3-1 and yesterday was a good win for them.
They will try to take care of the ball next week and try to slow the game down to a slog. Not sure if that will work out for them, but that has to be their only chance. I think the first half is tight and we take over the second half. Lewerke better keep his head on a swivel if he wants to finish the game.
I also do not think MSU will look as sound against us and they did against Iowa. Our speed and athleticism will cause too many problems for them on both sides of the ball. Turnovers will determine if this game is close or if it gets ugly.
September 30th, 2017 at 7:31 PM ^
lewerke's going to be lucky to finish the game
September 30th, 2017 at 7:32 PM ^
I'm convinced their coaches are the worst in the B10 in regards to in-game adjustments. They are amazing at putting together a pre-scripted opening scoring drive and then they can't coach their way out of a wet paper bag. This year's game will look a lot like last year's game in that the outcome will never be in question
September 30th, 2017 at 11:58 PM ^
So are theyir fans on RCMB. And for good reason, they are not good at it.
But i kind of feel like its pretty hard to be worst than Illinios at it, and Indy's offensive staff can not adjust to save their lives. Then there is Rutgers... have not seen much adjusting there either.
I think MSU is in the bottome 4 or five, but probably not the very worst.
September 30th, 2017 at 7:32 PM ^
This game isn't over yet!
September 30th, 2017 at 7:33 PM ^
I feel better about the MSU and Penn State games. Iowa looks like shit.
September 30th, 2017 at 7:49 PM ^
The fact Barkley can be held in check with IU gives me more confidence about that game relying on McSorley and Franklin's game management, two wild cards I don't see being all that predictable.
September 30th, 2017 at 8:08 PM ^
If it wasn't for the kickoff return and continuous turnovers, IU could've made that a game.
September 30th, 2017 at 8:21 PM ^
Wisconsin had their hands full with Northwestern today too.
September 30th, 2017 at 9:10 PM ^
their win today gifted from Iowa will only inflate Sparty's cockiness and arrogance.
