But that is basically what the OP is saying. This thread is an embrassment for this site.

You implied a meaning that the o.p. never expressed--appraciation for Speight being hurt. She has stated that she was so affected by the injury that she cried over it. Her expression was genuine. So you're the one with the reading comprehension problem. Also: you're a loser AND a scumbag.

Each of these guys Speight and O'Korn have positives and have now both won games for Michigan.

Get better good buddy. Thank you for last year. Prayers sent your way. Fortunately, you can heal with a capable back up leading he offense. Unfortunately, when you come back, you may not have the same job. #Meritocracy

I've been a huge O'Korn guy even after last year when he looked terrible. But just like we needed O'Korn today, we may need Speight down the road and now we know we have 2 guys who can lead us to W's.
That said, it's going to be tough because whenever one struggles, we're going to want the other one even more. They both better be ready to play!
Get well, Wilton. Get better, OL.

Speight's problem is WITH the role of quarterback. It's not off-field issues that he needs to get "straightened out". Speight has been here 4 years, so if he doesn't have his head on straight with respect to completing passes, he never will. What we saw today is as good as he's going to be for us going forward.

that we don't have two guys who can lead us to wins against decent teams. It's not even sure we have one, but if we do, it is O'Korn, absolutely and without question.
Speight looked absolutely lost out there. There is no way he can run this offense.

If OKorn started you'd have said he looked lost until coaching staff made the necessary adjustments and put the O in a better position. I am grateful that JOK stepped up to the job but he turned the ball over once too, wasn't his fault just like some of Speight's TOs have not been his fault.
Also, the offensive unit stepped up their game after Speight got hurt.
Really, unless you have walked in their shoes, played, coached, what do you know?
Nothing is "absolutely and without question" to armchair observers like you and me.

Has Speight looked capable of leading a Big Ten Championship Team, much less a National Championship team this year? He looks to have made little to no progress over last year. I don't wish anyone to get hurt. I hope he comes back and is 100%, but I don' think there is much objective evidence that he should be the leader of our offense.

you're just asking for people to post snide (and obvious) remarks. but oh well. wish the guy well, hope he is doing fine.

You jest! Hope Sp8 is ok and recovers but should be O'Korn moving forward.

which is exactly why we need a guy who can navigate the pocket to give our speedy TE's torch LB's.
I texted a friend in Q1 that we might not be a top 20 team but after JOK righted the ship I'd say we are more of a top five threat with Dr. Brown's incredible defense that gave up just 10 yards in total offense in the second half.
His adjustmenst to PU's misdirections were incredible.
September 23rd, 2017 at 10:25 PM ^
The simple fact remains that O'Korn performed far, far better than Speight today, with the SAME Oline, the same receivers, the same running backs, and against the same defense. The Speight apologists have run out of excuses.

but haven't heard a thing about the injury.
Wish him health -- he has his whole life in front of him.

Wish him good health but I'm ready to roll with Johnny Jumpman.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:08 PM ^
Gotta feel bad for the guy. He had no time in the pocket today. Running backs were awful picking up blitzs.

Speight's not done yet... It is not 100% a given that Harbaugh is going to bench a healthy Speight for John O'Korn, but even if JOK finishes out the season as the starter, he'll be done at the end of the season.
Speight on the other hand still has a redshirt senior year to play, and will probably be the leading contender next season.
