Air Force Appreciation Thread

Army, Navy and Marines as well.

What a class act Air Force's players and coaches were.  Loved watching Chase show the utmost respect for these special young men and women who sacrifice so much for the rest of us:

The world is a messy place but damn it felt good to see how well our country is represented by discipline and sportsmanship of the Air Force team.  Here's hoping both teams win out the rest of the year.

What's there to self pity? Sometimes teams struggle, sometimes they don't. I think the team will be fine after the bye week. It's perfectly fine to say the teams problems are mostly centered around its own issues than the opponent. Not every opponent is a world beater like some would have you believe.

but it sounded butthurt. If someone said that Cincy is winning 10 games, I would have agreed with you.  However, AF winning 9-10 games is a perfectly reasonable take given their 2016 season and the way they played against Michigan.

Your second response seems very rational.  I would normally have given you the benefit of the doubt on the first response but there are so many butthurt UM fans on the internet right now that I have lost my patience.

Thanks, Brandon. I mean what a middle finger to Michigan football having those guys here. Let's everyone say that to each other about a dozen more times each, eh?

Sorry, being totally sarcastic and didn't believe I needed the s/ People have been dwelling on various forms of "Ugh, Dave Brandon so stupid for scheduling argh" all week. The triple option is tough, but it's just maybe possible (I'm going to be sarcastic again here) that Brandon was looking at issues larger than football - like honoring the military - in his decision to bring them here. Brandon was a dick I'm glad he's gone, and I think the warrior worship so often goes over the top in this country, but the cursing of Brandon this week for bringing in a great program was just nauseating.

On behalf of my other fellow AFA graduates and members of the Long Blue Line, I accept and appreciate the recognition by others the sacrifice we, and others before/after us have and will make. I enjoyed every moment I spent in the Air Force and would do it all over again if I could.

The respect the fans showed to their team from the moment they ran on the field (without the traditional boo) until the fans cheered for them when their buses pulled off the lot was pretty cool. I doubt any AFA fans and family left Ann Arbor with a negative opinion of our fans.

I made a conscious choice to let people get this out of their system this week because we're probably gearing up for the onslaught of more sarcastic ones this week, if I am reading the tenor of the blog correctly. In the past, being overzealous about pulling the less pertinent appreciation threads has itself led to the creation of more of them, so I thought maybe if I let it slide once, it would at least slow down later.

Or maybe that was a vain hope of mine. We'll see.

We should appreciate the great competition we witnessed between these awesome young American men!  Our team is filled with great young men and we should enjoy watching them grow under thiese great leaders.  Don't know how good we will end up being in the end, but the potential is terrific. Enjoy the ride!
