Someone didn't like that idea when i posted it in the game thread on Saturday. I am for it. Try some fades. If its not there, O'Korn can at least potentially scramble.

Maybe the fix is backup quarterback John O’Korn. He’s mobile and gives Michigan a run-pass option. Ohio State did something similar with Cardale Jones giving way to J.T. Barrett in 2015.

A couple of us batted this very idea around after the game, using the Jones / Barrett platoon as an example. Obviously, we don't know and we're not in the middle of it, but on paper it sounded interesting anyway.

about Michigan when he believes the program is strong and a threat to Ohio State.

Harbaugh is a former quarterback. He grew up in a coaching family in which his dad went to a pro football game the day after his wedding.

The idea that this coach will replace a starting quarterback and put someone else in unless he sees no other choice for what he thinks this guy can do in moving his team, is so highly unlikely, it's like the belief he will leave the program to coach the Colts. And if you don't get this or undertand the thinking, then you don't get Harbaugh's competitive nature, his upbringing, belief system and every coaching choice he's ever made.  And I can't otherwise make myself more clear about this.

It's easy to overdo criticism of the run game - the nature of the AF defense means that you're going to mostly get 3 yards or less, or big gains. So it's not really fair to say "well after you remove the long runs..."

Probably not going to be popular opinion on here but when AF defense was stout and penetrating TY bellied up... went soft. He had some nice runs that went some distance but when faced with a defender he stays straight up. Besides the fumble by Evans I actually liked his play and Higdons play better because they were actually fighting for yards when there wasn't much to give.

always has been.  I don't mean that as an insult or anything, but Ty "not running behind his pads" has been a complaint from day 1 and it was mentioned by Wheatley as well.
He's not a tackle breaker like Smith was, no matter his size.

Ty Issac is a small, fast runner in a big backs body.  I'm OK with this.

This year I'm not sure if
A) Jay Harbaugh has allowed him to run his style.
B) A light has come on for Ty and he's seeing holes/cutbacks better.
C) The blocking this year (while suspect at times) lends itself to more to his style of running.
D) some combinatrion of the above.

"went soft"?  now that's insulting.

Yeah, the offense definitely has to answer the bell. I mean, I'm in Wilton's court. I think he's in a funk that he will get out of. At the same time, the coaches could help him. I feel like we're very vanilla because we can be. We haven't broken out a lot of tricks, which is fine by me to save for later in the season, but it's been frustrating to watch. We're getting into a lot of long yardage situations and that's down to first and second down. We're getting into a lot of long yardage passing situations. It's not been pretty. It hasn't been fun to watch.

I hope Oliver Martin gets healthy and some burn, if he's the real deal, as the coaches have advertised. Count me in amongst the people who thinks DPJ needs to get more touches. Screens, go routes, jet sweeps, whatever. Wilton, for his part, needs to know that he doesn't need to be perfect. He needs to let his receivers make plays. I feel like that was the problem with Rudock's long balls. It was the problem on that beautiful audible that resulted in a poorly thrown ball to Crawford. I feel like Wilton is trying to make every throw an NFL throw and it's hurting him.

I dont minf the idea of  O'korn coming in for some redzones. He is clearly more of a run threat and could bring some read option type plays. Plus the guy is pretty good at throwing fade route too.

I'm starting to like this writer.  He has clear respect for our team and tradition.

He went after the low hanging fruit this time, and still managed to maintain a somewhat balanced viewpoint especially for a Buckeye.

Still, no, I'm not looking for anything that the coaching staff doesn't decide is the right thing to do.

I'm in it with Harbaugh and with Speight.

Favorite quote about UM's red zone problems:  "Maybe if somebody is about to get tackled at the 15-yard line or so, have them retreat back outside the 20. Treat it like a step-back three. Take a page out of John Beilein’s playbook."

Not that he had much credibility with me in any case, if you are correct and Magnus actually had this idea, then he should discontinue thinking about stuff.

He is setting a dangerous precedent.
