Mike Francesa RIPS Field Goal Franklin

Submitted by GoBlueFrom_RU on

For those of you not local to the greater NY area, you may not have heard of the legendary Mike Francesa, who has been a host at the CBS affiliate WFAN for the past 30 years. If you are curious ESPN recently did a 30 for 30 on him and his old co-host.

Today Mike went on a rant for the ages, going nuclear on Field Goal Franklin icing the kicker while up 56-0. All 12 minutes are worth a listen, he even interrupts himself during the live ad read at the end.

I didn't listen, but I hope he also mentioned Franklin pulling out a trick play up 40+ on Akron in the 4th quarter of that game. He's just a classless jerk who fits well in the PSU culture

James Franklin seems to think PSU's turnaround has more to do with him than Joe Moorehead.  Haaaa, haaaaa.  I can't wait until Moorehead leaves for a head coaching job and Franklin goes back to being the imcompetent stooge he's always been.

Francesa is excellent, but I wish he and Chris would have stayed together. The Mike and the Mad Dog show was legendary. I had friends that would commute home for an hour and a half and then stay in their cars in the driveway for another half an hour just listening to that show.

Fell backwards into that championship. It was so flukey, they won the division, the conference title, and then a different team from their division got selected for the playoff. They were the 3rd best team in the division. They pulled one home upset on the back of some lucky bounces and a horrible gameplan by OSU. Speaking of which, OSU seems to have one or two just awful, inept games every year. Why cant that happen against Michigan once in a while?

absolutely awesome!  Especially because he seems like a relatively neutral observer.  Assumedly not a Georgia State fan.  Perhaps a Penn State detractor, I don't know.  But just seems like someone who calls BS exactly what it is and can't stand douchebaggery. "Let the kid kick the ball!"

But that was a world-class rant.  He needed the whole ad time to try to calm down.

I am a little concerned about his blood pressure, though.
