ESPN College Gameday (open thread) + Viewing Schedule
Not a great lineup...but before you complain, think about what you were doing on Saturday just 1 month ago.

Go Army

Syracuse has dubbed itself as "New York's College Team," but with ESPN College GameDay headed to Times Square next weekend, the Wall Street Journal designed a highly scientific way to measure which collegiate brands have the strongest followings in NYC. WSJ's study design: Monitor runners on popular routes to see what college shirts are worn, Ok, maybe it wasn't not terribly statistically relevant effort, but here were the results: Michigan, Penn, Duke, NYU, Stanford, Yale, Cornell, Princeton, Cuse & Virginia made up the Top 10. Must be in hiding after last week :)
September 16th, 2017 at 9:01 AM ^
Me what to do before I complain, dad.
September 16th, 2017 at 9:02 AM ^
I went last year and it was absolutely unreal. A top 2 best college football experience I've had. Best experience away from Ann Arbor, without question.

looking for a place to watch today. if anyone knows a Michigan bar in/near Royal Oak I'd appreciate it.
September 16th, 2017 at 9:13 AM ^
Any or all of them. Yes, all of the bars in Royal Oak will work.
September 16th, 2017 at 9:24 AM ^
You're in Michigan. I'd imagine every sports bar is going to be playing Michigan.
https://www.yelp.com/search?cflt=sportsbars&find_loc=Royal+Oak%2C+MI
It looks like there's 2 decent spots called Tony's Sports Bar and Hamlin Corner that have good reviews after 15 second Google search.
September 16th, 2017 at 9:40 AM ^
a bar that is considered a UM fans' bar, vs a bar that will be showing the game
September 16th, 2017 at 9:52 AM ^
Literally every bar in Royal Oak.
Not many Staee fans here and every other person on the street went to Michigan.
September 16th, 2017 at 11:23 AM ^
But I'll never understand the "Where is the UM bar within 200 miles of Ann Arbor/Detroit/Grand Rapids" question. Everyone knows you want to watch the game with fellow fans. We get that part. But the actual watching of the game is the most important part, no?
Grab a beer, start talking to the bar flys next to you, buy them a beer if you want to make instant friends, and watch the game. Done! It's now a "Michigan" bar. I live in Denver now but I've lived a few different places around the country and this has been the solution every time.
Ps you owe me a beer the next time I'm in Royal Oak.
September 16th, 2017 at 11:26 AM ^
post it when you're here and I'll show up
September 16th, 2017 at 11:38 AM ^
At least Grand Rapids is out in western Michigan and it may be showing MSU if Michigan and MSU are playing at the exact same time.
Royal Oak is literally 44 miles from Michigan Stadium.
September 16th, 2017 at 3:27 PM ^
Rockford is approximately 88% MSU, according to my scientific measurements.

football season always goes by so fast. A whole offseason of waiting and it feels like it's blazing by again
September 16th, 2017 at 9:19 AM ^
That's what happens when you're winning. When you're losing the season takes FOR-EV-VER!
We just need to win it all so we can maximize the length of the season.
September 16th, 2017 at 9:56 AM ^
When Lloyd retired.
I'm 72 now.
September 16th, 2017 at 10:28 AM ^
You may want to have the gravity checked at home. It sound like you might not have enough.
September 16th, 2017 at 11:12 AM ^
And I'll say it again! (The dreaded double post.)

This website is great for planning out your daily CFB watch guide:
September 16th, 2017 at 9:25 AM ^
Perfect. So first Michigan vs Air Force. Then Tennessee vs Florida. Followed by Clemson vs Louiville. Got my day all planned out.
September 16th, 2017 at 9:28 AM ^
I think that's all most of us will be watching this week minus random glances at other games because they're close or because we want to see something funny.
September 16th, 2017 at 9:25 AM ^
Seems like we spent all the good games on last week. Besides Michigan/USAF and Clemson/louisville...
Purdue/Mizzou?
Woof.
September 16th, 2017 at 9:36 AM ^
Mich
Fla vs Tenn
LSU/Miss st until L'ville & Clemson
And then watch Canelo beat the brakes off GGG
September 16th, 2017 at 9:40 AM ^
i'm all hopped up on mountain dew!!!
September 16th, 2017 at 9:43 AM ^
Some good games on tap...Nebraska vs N Ill could be interesting. Clemson Louisville also should be fun. And will be tuning in to TN vs F to see if the gators srill suck. Hoping they blow TN up
September 16th, 2017 at 9:44 AM ^
Was Line 1. Hoping we can put together a solid performance and destroy Air Force.
GO BLUE!!
September 16th, 2017 at 9:45 AM ^
Wisc at Byu would be fun but BYU seems to suck this year. I would have never thought BYU would be catching 16.5 at home in a game like this.
September 16th, 2017 at 9:47 AM ^
Wow, Tennesse and Florida use to be a marque game for espn, isn't it called the largest cocktail party or something like that? But instead they go to nyc, I guess that is what happens when you become shark-humping life champions and hire jemele hill!
September 16th, 2017 at 9:49 AM ^
Largest cocktail party is Florida vs Georgia
September 16th, 2017 at 9:48 AM ^
be okay - wisconsin, florida and ND for instance.
won't be watching, will be coaching (and then driving), but should be back to see the second half of those.
September 16th, 2017 at 9:49 AM ^
The game is on BTN? Booooooooo!
We built an indoor rowing facility because of BTN? Yaaaayyy!
I'll take the trade-off.
September 16th, 2017 at 9:53 AM ^
I won't. Fuck indoor rowing vs BTN
September 16th, 2017 at 10:31 AM ^
appropriately communicates your disdain. Please continue with the scowling.
September 16th, 2017 at 10:43 AM ^
Now, to be fair, if we get a sufficiently chilly winter here, it can be a rough go rowing the Huron (or Belleville Lake, for that matter - I think they practice there occasionally) for a couple months, although to your point, I think trying to navigate or ford the numerous ice dams could be a character-building exercise as well as a strength-buiding one.
September 16th, 2017 at 9:56 AM ^
I would watch Michigan on QVC!
September 16th, 2017 at 10:09 AM ^
If only some of that BTN money could go to revenue sport athletes.
September 16th, 2017 at 10:56 AM ^
Matt Millen???
Double boo!!
September 16th, 2017 at 9:50 AM ^
Go Blue and Go Army!
September 16th, 2017 at 9:54 AM ^
I'm calling Army over OSU today. I don't make predictions often, but Army has the ability to neutralize the defensive line and If Barrett has a bad day...
September 16th, 2017 at 10:21 AM ^
I am with you. One of my friends from college is the D Line coach for Army.
September 16th, 2017 at 10:38 AM ^
I'm gonna take OSU 66-10
September 16th, 2017 at 10:47 AM ^
I'll be shocked if that game is within 4 touchdowns.
September 16th, 2017 at 10:47 AM ^
I mean. I'd love to see it. That would be fantastic. But yeah. No. Ain't happening. OSU by 27 at minimum.
September 16th, 2017 at 10:06 AM ^
Starts in 40 mins. Those kids better play fast.
September 16th, 2017 at 10:38 AM ^
I predict triple overtime
September 16th, 2017 at 11:16 AM ^
We'll be out of here soon.
Also, turns out little Hatter isn't much of a team player. He got upset when his team scored a goal. Because he wasn't the one that scored it.
And now they're playing Star Wars.
September 16th, 2017 at 10:16 AM ^
If Bear wasn't on Gameday next week I wouldnt even notice...how did this guy get that job?
