Game Day Weather

Submitted by mgoweather on

It's the last official weekend of summer - and by golly it'll feel like it! High pressure will move into Ohio for Saturday keeping us dry with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will run above normal for this time of year, and you'll only want the long sleeves early in the morning and late at night. To everyone who has or is serving our country, we can never thank you enough! C'mon blue!

Tailgating

We'll have a quiet, calm, and cool start to the day. You may want to give yourself an extra minute or two on the roads heading to your fav spot as we'll have some fog. If you're up and at 'em early temps will be runnning around 60 degrees with a light wind, generally out of the south. As we approach the later morning hours, we'll be up around 70 with just a couple of clouds in the sky. You may want to put on some sunscreen before heading through the gates, especially if your seats are in full sun.

Kickoff

75 degrees and beautiful to start this game! We'll have plenty of sun and very light winds out of the SSE - around 5mph (just enough to rustle some leaves). Really can't ask for much more than this in mid-September!

Halftime

Cold drinks anyone? Particularly if you're in the sun, it's a warm afternoon for us! At least your nacho cheese won't be cold by the time you get back to your seat haha! Hitting 80 for the halftime show - I'm sure anyone dressed as a dinosaur last week is happy not to be melting in that this Saturday! Winds remain light, around 5-7mph, out of the SSE.

Post-Game

That fantastic weather will continue as you leave the game! Just a couple of clouds here and there as temps top out in the low 80s. We'll have a light breeze continuing out of the SSE through the dinner-time hours before it lightens. Want to go to dinner but left your sweatshirt at the tailgate? No worries - we'll still be hanging on to mid 70s at 7pm. You may want it for that late-night celebration though - we finally fall back to the mid 60s by 10pm, and then to 60 by that last call. Mainly clear skies will continue overnight with light winds. Let's go blue!!

This is heresy!  It ain't football unless it's cold, windy, maybe some rain/sleet.

In Tucson, AZ this time of year it's around 100 degrees in the daytime.  They play football in the evenings, and it's usually around 90-something when they do.  90 and no sun is actually quiet pleasant in the desert southwest.

But it ain't football weather, damn it!

I'd love to be in the stadium on Saturday, but alas I'm down in West Virginia.  (I'm going to the Braxton County high school game tonight.)  I'll be listening to the game on Saturday!
