Looking for a tailgate tomorrow

Submitted by Craze for Maize on
Hi. I’ll be making the trek from Iowa City to Ann Arbor today, and I don’t really have anyone in the area to tailgate with before the game and enjoy the experience. Does anyone have a spot they recommend or willing to let my friend and I come tailgate? Will pay with beer of choice.

My place is about one minute's walk from the nearest gate. I would be willing to host some strangers, but don't want to share any personal deets on this here site. If you give me some info I can send you a private message telling you where to go. Still haven't bought a grill yet, though. :(

Also, nice job, joining 11/11/11!

I believe so although I didn't stop by. Per their site, it'll be open evey home game this season.

University of Michigan 2017 Home Football Schedule:
  • September 9th vs. Cincinnati
  • September 16th vs. Air Force
  • October 7th vs. Michigan State
  • October 28th vs. Rutgers (Homecoming)
  • November 4th vs. Minnesota
  • November 25th vs. Ohio State

The comfortable garden atmosphere features Slows famous BBQ, local craft beers, and lawn games. Just 450 feet from the stadium, guests will enjoy the famous marching band while TV’s broadcast from the garden warehouse. All ages welcome.

All proceeds from beer sales support the Cancer Support Community. Interested in helping out with the Charity Beer Garden? We are currently looking for volunteers! Submit your availability online or email Erin at [email protected].

Hope to see you on game day. GO BLUE!

Do you remember where we did the Marlin event in 2014? It's at 1011 S. Main Street, same side of the street as Michigan Stadium, just north of the parking lot. Look for a school bus painted blue with the winged helmet on it. Kinda hard to miss. Walk up to the guy serving beer and say you're an mgoblog reader and he'll give pour you one.

My friend and I will be up here (crossing the MI line right now) and we'll stop by as well. Is it an environment where you can hang out for a few or is it a stop by and bounce type of environment? My hillbilly buddy has never been to MI and I'm trying to sell him in the idea that UofM fans are probably The nicest bunch he'll encounter. Would love to hang out in an area for an hour or so.

Similar issue here: coming up from Ohio to meet the old man in AA. Don't know many people around town anymore, but I'd be willing to bring some Yuengling to contribute.

Honestly, I'm not a big Yuengling fan anyway. However, many times when I come back to MI to see friends/family I'm asked to bring a case or two with me. I wasn't aware 1) that it was that hard to find in MI (seems to be everywhere in OH) and 2) that it had that much of a following in MI.

This thread is awesome. Maybe we can have one every Friday, before home games. Whenever I go, I'm in the same boat since I'm old now and don't know anybody in AA anymore.

OK, since the OP has been satisfied, I'll threadjack and ask is anyone going to A2Y.asm tomorrow? It's my first time going to something like that, and I would love to meet up with an MGoBlogger.

With the exception of this week, because the wife is currently nearing 41 weeks pregnant, you are all welcome to swing by my tailgate at the golf course for future games. The Jäger Yearbook.

We are always on the state street side of the course on the 1st fairway. We always have our orange Jäger flag flying.

We've already had many Mgopeeps stop by in the last 9 years and wouldn't mind meeting more.

We have our Jäger machine hooked up to he generator, beer pong tournaments, and some pretty awesome people. You can search us on Facebook, Jäger Yearbook.

I know it is super far away but I am looking for anyone who is holding a tailgate at Penn State. Got 4 of us flying in from Chicago and willing to bring whatever to help out.

Wife and I are also undecided as to what to do tomorrow. For the last 7-8 years we've been parking for free in the neighborhood west of the stadium and tailgating with a large family we were friends with. Last year that all went tits up.
Not sure if we want to still park for free and wander or pay the $40-50 to get a spot and tailgate. Where's the best cheapest location? I don't remember how much the golf course was to park but I believe pioneer is $50? Anyone wants to email me with suggestions that'd be awesome.

If you want to join us just email me [email protected] and if you're bringing lots of people please also bring some extra meat/beer! Go Blue!!! All are welcome - we're about a ten minute walk from the stadium and we leave in 3 hours to drive there...
