Anyone Listen to Braylon on the Radio?
Couldn't have been more positive about Michigan. Was bordering on homerism. In fact, people were texting in after the show and said how bad of a homer he was being.
Some bullet points, actually portrayed correctly:
-Said the defense is the best in the Big Ten.
-Ranked Michigan #1 in his personal power rankings.
-Speight needs to correct some things, but seems to be confident that he can it done. Would not trade Lewerke for Speight, and said most of the other QBs in the conference are no good.
-Special teams needs some work, but fixable stuff.
-Watched the Cincy game multiple times, it was just a few things that led to the score being close, mostly special teams errors.
Hope everyone had a chance to actually breathe and put down their pitchforks after last week.

Pretty sure it was 2004. He attoned for future sins that game. What a game.
September 14th, 2017 at 6:07 PM ^
if some other former players picked up the phone and have a conversation with him about last weeks show...
September 14th, 2017 at 6:11 PM ^
If he was the dbag that was being portrayed by a lot of people on here, he wouldn't cave in to those requests.
The problem was that people saw the initial post, didn't listen to it, and just went completely off the freaking wall.

Thanks for your opinion, Stanley.

Sat behind BE at the ConcussionGate game vs Minny. Shook his hand and said he needed to suit up and get out there.
September 14th, 2017 at 6:13 PM ^
I saw him at MDen once and he was yelling at anyone who picked up a #1 jersey that they need to earn it.
September 14th, 2017 at 6:57 PM ^
Oh come on people, that was funny!
September 14th, 2017 at 7:01 PM ^
Funny. I literally thought the same thing when I saw this was being downvoted.
September 14th, 2017 at 9:40 PM ^
Went into it completely expecting cool starry bra-humblebrag, but he really hit me with that zinger.
September 15th, 2017 at 7:34 AM ^
should be redlocked. That was a great post.
September 14th, 2017 at 7:15 PM ^
the Cincy game last week. He offered to take a picture with my 9 year old daughter (who was wearing the #1 jersey). He couldn't have been more nice. I'm sure it gets a little old with everyone wanting to meet him, especially in the tailgating lot outside of a M game, but he was super accommodating. My daughter watched 2004 MSU game highlights half the way home.
September 14th, 2017 at 7:26 PM ^
Yeah, but did she earn that #1 jersey?
September 14th, 2017 at 9:01 PM ^
It was funny the first time.
September 14th, 2017 at 10:38 PM ^
Yeah but did he earn it the first time?!
September 15th, 2017 at 8:17 AM ^
I told him that she earned it by being a good student. He chuckled.
September 14th, 2017 at 8:39 PM ^
But could he have been nicer?
September 14th, 2017 at 6:08 PM ^
Maybe he read his Twitter mentions.
September 14th, 2017 at 6:10 PM ^
BE of Lloyd Carr's and not Rich Rod's University of Michigan, mind you.

Good thing Jim Harbaugh never publicly spoke his negative opinion on student athletes and their majors at Michigan. Oh wait...
Braylon is a Michigan fan, publicly a pro-Michigan sportshead, and one of the best receivers to ever wear the maize and blue. Give respect where it is due people.
September 15th, 2017 at 10:37 AM ^
exactly, dude can't catch a break either. Last week he was "too critical" now he's "too homer".
September 14th, 2017 at 6:12 PM ^
make up call.
September 14th, 2017 at 6:14 PM ^
He was plenty positive about a lot of things last week, but people just read and didn't listen, and formed baseless opinions because the OP had a bone to pick.
September 14th, 2017 at 6:16 PM ^
You're like valenti show devotee.
September 14th, 2017 at 6:32 PM ^
Pretty sure the OP quoted him verbatim.
September 14th, 2017 at 7:29 PM ^
of that shit was taken out of context and pretty much everything Braylon said last week I agreed except for the #1 thing. And by the way Braylon Edwards might be a douche canoe, but he knows more about football than anyone posting on this blog, so you all look really pathetic bashing him for his football opinions to anoyone who is not a blind homer.
September 14th, 2017 at 7:53 PM ^
more like 99% of the posters on this blog. there are some very knowledgeable posters here who have played and/or coached at high levels.
September 14th, 2017 at 8:25 PM ^
So people who played football are immune to criticism? Well close down the message boards. It was fun while it lasted.
September 14th, 2017 at 8:38 PM ^
True for Matt Millen, or just guys you like?
September 14th, 2017 at 11:57 PM ^
Listened to the show in question when it aired, OP didn't make it all up, but he sure didn't present an accurate overall picture. If someone voices 25 opinions in a one-hour segment and you cherry pick the 5 negative ones and disregard the others, is that fair or accurate? Nope.
September 15th, 2017 at 12:53 PM ^
And anyone else that is able to break down multiple positions of a football team, not just the WR position. The way he spoke about Tarik Black being ahead of DPJ, before the Florida game, was insightful. And Tarik did have the bigger game.
I didn't listen to last week's appearance on the show, and probably won't plan to listen in the future since he's sharing a mic with Valenti. When we beat MSU, maybe I'll tune in then.
September 14th, 2017 at 7:26 PM ^
And you've carried your bone over to this week. Thanks.
September 14th, 2017 at 6:16 PM ^
You're not fooling anyone. That's a big leap saying he wouldn't trade Speight for Lewerke. Wow, talk about homerism.
September 14th, 2017 at 6:23 PM ^
Sarcasm I hope?
September 14th, 2017 at 6:36 PM ^
The OP is Braylon Edwards, and of course the comment about Speight and Lewerke is sarcasm. There isn't a coach, including Dantonio, that would rather have Lewerke over Speight. Speight has shown he can be capable. Lewerke, not so much.
September 14th, 2017 at 7:31 PM ^
what fucking planet do you live on? Forget the shitshow of fumbles and miscues, just look at the numbers and then consider the talent around them. Lewerke is better and it's not even really close.
September 14th, 2017 at 7:49 PM ^
planet called Earth. You, on the other hand?
September 14th, 2017 at 8:41 PM ^
Did you watch any football last year?
September 15th, 2017 at 4:52 PM ^
I will take the QB that has actually won a game in the B1G thank you very much.
September 14th, 2017 at 6:22 PM ^
the OP's bullett point reads the other way around. So I guess I don't know what he means.
September 14th, 2017 at 6:24 PM ^
Hell, I wouldn't trade my used gym socks for lewerke. And their Puma's!
September 14th, 2017 at 9:09 PM ^
Would you? If he said MCSorley (so), than I would agree
September 14th, 2017 at 6:19 PM ^
Get permission to give us #1 on his personal list?
September 14th, 2017 at 6:19 PM ^
Okay, but Stevie Wonder could see everything that Braylon said.
I'd still rather listen to a recording of every fart I've ever blown out my ass than Braylon or Marcus Ray at this point. Or Valenti. Why tf do people listen to Valenti?
September 14th, 2017 at 6:25 PM ^
He is actually pretty on point about everything not UM/MSU related.
September 14th, 2017 at 6:36 PM ^
He's not even from this area.
That show is popular because of 2 reasons.
- Competition is non-existent in Detroit.
- Being an unprofessional blowhard on the air to people attracts similar types to listen in (Howard Stern anyone?)
September 14th, 2017 at 7:36 PM ^
Really? He is anything but a blow hard. I like you WD but don't rag on the king of all media . They talk about Michigan all the time on that show because Jon Hein is a alum .
September 14th, 2017 at 10:54 PM ^
You may want to consider doing some traveling, living in other places at some point
September 15th, 2017 at 1:07 PM ^
We don't throw that stupid argument in your face. We're not checking your credentials, because you've shown to be an amazing fan.
Don't start trying to check credentials because a person didn't grow up here. Valenti is qualified to talk about local sports because he went to MSU and moved to the Detroit area. Plus he has a degree in his field.
Yes, he is a jerk on the radio. But he is technically a professional in a field where it's hard to stay in one place for over a decade. And that means you end up working in areas that are not native to you.
