Zach needs to be shown the door and greeted by CPD for theft, theft of a paycheck for the impersonation of a WR coach.
September 10th, 2017 at 11:49 AM ^
I read on r/CFB that he is Earl Bruce's grandson and that's the only reason he's on staff.
Nepotism FTW.
ps, FUCK Ohio State.

This thread, the comments are amazing. I love how butt hurt they are, in spite of the fact he was doing it because the OSU assholes stayed after the game to sing their fight song after they beat OU last year haha:

It wasn't their fight song. It was their Alma Mater. They sing it after EVERY game, home or away. They sing it at the Big House every other year.
Maybe if more fans new the words to OUR Alma Mater, Yellow and Blue, it would make more sense.
September 10th, 2017 at 10:01 AM ^
Let me see if I follow your logic: doing something cocky / classless (singing your song, any song, on a rival's turf) more often actually makes it classy or acceptable? Interesting, I've seen this argument from the Buckeye fans as well but not sure I understand it.
September 10th, 2017 at 10:03 AM ^
Which, taking the argument to its logical conclusion: if my tradition is to take a shit on the field after every game, win or lose, home or away, would you be cool with me taking a shit at the 50 yard line of the Big House?
September 10th, 2017 at 10:15 AM ^
It's about love and devotion to your school. Which is what makes college football great.
Carmen Ohio was written in 1902 by an Ohio State student, after hearing Michigan sing the Yellow and Blue. Read the lyrics to both songs. Seriously. It isn't disrespectful at all.
September 10th, 2017 at 10:43 AM ^
Jeff09's shit isn't disrespectful either. He brewed it from an order of Muttar Paneer (not too spicy), paired with garlic naan and a chai tea.
September 10th, 2017 at 11:30 AM ^
And make sure you use your own cooler.
September 10th, 2017 at 12:54 PM ^
Jeff09 is so mad rite now
September 10th, 2017 at 1:23 PM ^
Are you related to Jeff09?
you guys kind of look alike
September 10th, 2017 at 3:17 PM ^
one of my best friend's MOm makes the BEST Mattar paneer. Her samosas are the best samosa ever created in the history of mankind as well. In high school, she loved me because I embraced their cuisine and always asked for a second helping, while the rest of our friends always had to "go home" for dinner.
Damn, now im hungry
September 10th, 2017 at 10:46 AM ^
I guess we'll agree to disagree on this one. I think you can both love your school and refrain from singing songs on the opponent's field after you beat them. Just because something is a tradition and is consistent doesn't mean it's not obnoxious in my opinion.
September 10th, 2017 at 12:19 PM ^
Maybe Mayfield wanted to start a school tradition against OSU!? How is that any different. I agree, if your going to sing or any other BS in the name of tradition be prepaired for someone elses definition of it.
September 10th, 2017 at 12:21 PM ^
I trust you won't be watching the olympics this year, though. Wouldn't want to disrespect the host country after the USA cleans house with gold medals.
September 10th, 2017 at 2:09 PM ^
Is there a podium ceremony after a football game, like in the Olympics?
September 10th, 2017 at 12:07 PM ^
Holy Fuck, singing your own alma mater at any game is classless? Even if the team is the away team? I hope that's not what you're saying...
Cuz if it is, you should stick around after the Air Force game and I dare you to find issue with the song they will sing, that they sing after every game home or away. The third verse of the Air Force song is sung to honor those who have died as past or present members of the Air Force.
September 10th, 2017 at 12:18 PM ^
I think you need to relax a little. Honoring the dead is obviously a little different from singing some douchey football song. Not sure where the false equivalence or desire to defend the Buckeyes is coming from to be honest.
September 10th, 2017 at 12:42 PM ^
a). He's not the one who needs to relax about dumb things.
b). Alma Matres are not "douchey football songs", they're university songs.
c). You have no clue what false equivalence means if that's what you think it is.
d). Good to know you are *never* allowed to defend *anything* from *any* rival team.
September 10th, 2017 at 12:53 PM ^
I can have an opinion and be perfectly relaxed at the same time, thanksverymuch.
September 10th, 2017 at 1:02 PM ^
Just to be clear, if Michigan sings it's alma mater at away games in front of the contingent of fans, is that douchey or are you alright with it?
September 10th, 2017 at 1:09 PM ^
I think it's aggressive. I think it's rubbing salt in a fresh wound of a team that just lost at home. And I think if the QB of that team comes back and beats you on your turf then next year, you shouldn't run around whining about it if said QB who took personal offense to your singing pulls some aggressive celebration himself. That's the beginning and end of my opinion.
If you guys disagree that's fine. Not sure why we're all up in arms over it, we root for the same team and should enjoy our victory and OSU's loss. There's no reason we can't disagree in a civil way and leave it at that. I hope you have a nice rest of the weekend, and go blue.
September 10th, 2017 at 2:07 PM ^
Our players do sometimes sing "The Victors" with fans after a road win. But they do it in front of the visitors' section, not at the 50.
September 10th, 2017 at 3:46 PM ^
He's just avoiding your double standard. You might try that, yourself. You don't get to decide which alma maters are "douchy" and which are not.
September 10th, 2017 at 10:16 AM ^
FWIW, they have a really moving Alma Mater.
September 10th, 2017 at 10:58 AM ^
It is a tender ballad that tells the story of a young co-ed's love for cheese.
September 10th, 2017 at 2:10 PM ^
curds. cheese curds.
September 10th, 2017 at 6:19 PM ^
At least when they're fresh (and squeaky).
Oddly the only time I have cheese curds nowadays is when I go to Montreal or Quebec City.
September 10th, 2017 at 12:46 PM ^
It's one thing to sing your song in front of the visitors' section and another to go to midfield and sing it in front of the whole stadium, which they started doing under Tressel and have continued under Meyer.
BTW, they only do it after they win. When they lose, they just slink back to the locker room in silence.
September 10th, 2017 at 12:55 PM ^
They sing it after every game. They sang it after Clemson trashed them last year too.
September 10th, 2017 at 1:10 PM ^
Maybe for bowl games it's different. But I'm certain they didn't sing it in 2003 and 2011, or any of the Cooper losses in A2. They don't sing when they lose on the road. I've been to every home edition of the Game since 1993 and have never heard them sing it when we've beaten them.
September 10th, 2017 at 11:28 AM ^
The only time I've been to an OSU - Michigan game was with my son, who was then about 10 years old, at the end of the Lloyd era. We lost on the final drive, a heartbreaker.
After the game, the band was coming on, and the OSU team demonstratively took up a huge chunk of the field, blocking the band. They were prancing and preening, making it impossible for the band to do their thing, singing their song and dancing as their fans celebrated in the stands. I remember in particular one huge linebacker with long blonde hair (can't remember his name) towering over a Michigan band member and glowering until the band member retreated. It went on forever. At one point the stadium announcer actually requested them to leave the field, and they just kept on with their interminable display. I think the band actually just gave up and didn't do their prepared ending number, though perhaps they ended up doing it to an empty stadium as everyone left. It was obviously aimed at rubbing Michigan noses in it. Asshole behaviour.
If they do it after every game on their home stadium, that's fine. In an opponent's stadium, done quickly and mournfully after a loss, OK. Even after a win in the opponent's stadium, done quickly and inconspicuously off in a corner with traveling fans, that's OK if done with respect and if they leave the field right after the song is done. But that is not what I saw, and I assume that it is what normally happens. In an opponent's stadium after a heartbreaking loss, that is just asshole behaviour. I assume that was what it was like after the OU game last year as well. Damn right they deserve to have a flag planted in the middle of their home field.
September 10th, 2017 at 12:09 PM ^
It kind of reminds me of Alabama's old "Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer" song.
September 10th, 2017 at 2:03 PM ^
I have no problem with them singing the alma mater. But as someone who graduated from Oklahoma and was at last years game with my dad who flew in from Michigan, fuck their fans. Their fans that came down for the game were classless assholes. One Ohio State fan tried to steal my dads seat in the stadium, they were all loudly and obnoxiously singing and doing the OHIO thing on my dads flight, both to and from Oklahoma, and their fans did the OHIO chant all around the stadium all fourt quarter. I'm so glad OU planted their flag and I find humor that so many Ohio State fans think they are innocent here.
September 10th, 2017 at 8:07 PM ^
Honest question - did anyone see OSU singing to their alma mater on he field after losing this game?
I didn't see them do it, but I flipped channels to see ND lose, so I may have missed it. By the time I flipped back all I saw was the Mayfield celebration but no sign of singing Buckeyes.

I'm really just looking for the GIF of Oklahoma victory lapping then (clumsily) placing flag in center of 50 yard line.

I hate Oklahoma. You can take away that crook Barry Switzer and the stench of the program is still thick as mud.
But dammit if one cannot take immense vicarious enjoyment from the chronology of events in Columbus Saturday night.

But a 6" spike, THAT, would really piss me off.
