young team will have its ups and downs. very disappointed in offense performance. hope that changes soon. defense bar was set pretty high in week one. not always gonna be like that no matter who we play.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:27 PM ^
Need to sort out pass protection on the right side and Speight needs to fix his accuracy. Then we'll be fine, but I don't think the OL will allow us to be elite.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:27 PM ^
Your question will cause this thread to devolve into another cathartic, Speight-hating session.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:32 PM ^
After looking at the answers...I strongly disagree.
That's why I asked in THIS thread. I personally find the folks who hangout in this thread my favorite posters on the board and the opinions I trust most.

Dood you make me laugh lol

Mostly encouraged compared to preseason expectations. Defense is so fast! Gary doesn't have the counting stats but he maybe had double digit pressures today and overpursuit is an improvable thing.
The things that might go beyond ironing out are:
- Is this Forever Speight? I've generally been a defender but a bit worried now
- RT: How much better will Ulizio get? Can someone pass him if not?
Other than that, injury to the wrong spot could be reaaaal bad. That's true for almost every team though.

overall as expected with a young team though speight should be and needs to be much better. he regressed and not sure if that is rust/surgery recovery or as he said his footwork got sloppy. last week pushed expectations higher but this game crashed reality home. right side of line needs work that only comes with playing games. isaac is solid but he doesn't blow me away and and evans has to get back into form from end of last year. play calling is very conservative and needs to win with aggression like the defense. the defensive backs are young and will improve. the potential is there but as with line they need real game experience. mo hurst/rashan gary/chase winovish are beasts.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:45 PM ^
But I'm tired of speight not hitting receivers in stride. Even when he makes decent throws he doesn't lead them. Just to many turnovers as well for a well coached team imo. I hope we don't play down/up to our opponents all season as well. Just feel like I wasted two games complaining when I want to enjoy all the games.

tunnel screen!
September 9th, 2017 at 8:27 PM ^
Gonna pass thanks tho
September 9th, 2017 at 8:41 PM ^
You don't have to though. This video is Michigan highlights only, not Cincy.
September 9th, 2017 at 9:42 PM ^
Then what does it show after the first 20 seconds?
September 9th, 2017 at 8:35 PM ^
I know it is painful to do this, but you gotta include some Cincinnati scoring plays, turnovers, etc so that the highlights actually give the viewer insight on the nature of the game.
This video is messing with my mind and making me think we did better than we actually did!

After 1Q, this looks like OUs game to lose
September 9th, 2017 at 8:29 PM ^
I disagree
September 9th, 2017 at 8:37 PM ^
Even matchup
September 9th, 2017 at 8:39 PM ^

September 9th, 2017 at 8:30 PM ^
I mean cmon OU. literally handing them the game
September 9th, 2017 at 8:30 PM ^
OSU offense looks stale. Secondary doesnt look good at all
September 9th, 2017 at 8:30 PM ^
Herbstreit's homerism is so obnoxious.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:31 PM ^
All that work and now Auburn is losing at the half.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:31 PM ^
the bags of cash were delivered late in first half
September 9th, 2017 at 8:32 PM ^

September 9th, 2017 at 8:32 PM ^
Refs keeping OSU in it. Shocked.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:34 PM ^
B12 crew officiating
September 9th, 2017 at 8:32 PM ^
Way to keep pissing me off, Oklahoma.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:33 PM ^
Don't turn the ball over OU, please don't make it any easier for OSU.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:33 PM ^
Right throigh his hands hahaha
September 9th, 2017 at 8:33 PM ^
Every other time, ever, that I've seen a missed fumble call blown dead, they have NEVER reversed it. Of course they did for OSU.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:38 PM ^
Chad Henne, ND, 2005.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:34 PM ^
Seriously just compared Dobbins to Barry Sanders after one game?
September 9th, 2017 at 8:36 PM ^
They were hyping up his physical abilities for being able to handle playing two games in nine days. I mean, where do they even come up with this shit?
September 9th, 2017 at 8:38 PM ^
In Ohio
September 9th, 2017 at 8:44 PM ^
mainly route 30 on down
September 9th, 2017 at 8:34 PM ^
JT takes a fucking beating and gets right back up, wtf.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:35 PM ^
Weber just popped his hamstring again.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:39 PM ^
Looked like he just rolled his ankle to me.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:42 PM ^
He was reaching for his upper leg...
September 9th, 2017 at 8:46 PM ^
Gotcha. I didn't see that.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:37 PM ^
Oklahoma and Georgia both make unforced errors and now OSU and ND at the goal line. Someone upstairs really hates Michigan.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:37 PM ^
10 years at OSU and Barret still cannot complete a contested throw over 10 yards
September 9th, 2017 at 8:39 PM ^
After all that, the damage to Oklahoma was 3 points.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:42 PM ^
Too many bitch teams I hate won today.
September 9th, 2017 at 9:09 PM ^
Notre Dame/Georgia for This Game Won't Matter in Hindsight 2017.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:44 PM ^
*Plays 1.25 games as a unit* "This defensive line is known for" Vomit
September 9th, 2017 at 8:44 PM ^
If OU can hang on to the ball they will be ok
September 9th, 2017 at 8:46 PM ^
Man watching these offensive players makes me very depressed about our offense.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:46 PM ^
Unfortunately Staee and ND don't look like train wrecks this year. Staee game could be too close for comfort.
September 9th, 2017 at 8:48 PM ^
And on what are you basing that conclusion? Their dominating 14-point win over a MAC opponent?
