Could be in for another loooooong Fall

Submitted by Trepps on
Hopefully people with more football knowledge than me had more positive vibes, but I went to the Spring Game and was very discouraged by the defense and the rushing offense. As for the D, maybe it was due to the missing starters or the fact they couldn't hit the QB's, but I saw no penetration by the D-Line and no big plays by the back 7. The run game hopefully will improve when Smith gets back. The positives were clearly D-Rob and Roundtree on offense. Tate looked like he did last year, some good and some bad. Gardner's talent is obvious be he looked a lot like a freshman QB.

We have depth for the O-line now and a true freshman qb is not going to be starting. Don't Panic.

was the second D against the starting Offense. The Dline that looked good was the starting D against the second offense. Therefore, your worries = way too much.

Jamie Morris said this morning on OTF, "Michigan football is back". Jamie was impressed!!! Mr. Morris may be slightly biased, but I think you should listen too him. WTKA should have the podcast up shortly. Just checked 4-11 is the latest available for OTF

You saw a scrimmage with guys going around 60%, calm down and wait for the until the season starts for irrational fear and panic.

I'm discouraged that at 21 my eyes are no longer good enough to see Denard when he runs. Yesterday was a rough day for my psyche.

The thing about spring is that it is not fall. These guys are gonna be improved by fall, at least a little bit. It will be totally different. I have to admit that I don't think the whole teams is playing their hearts out as they are playing against their own team and don't really want to kill any of them. It's hard to tell how good the team really is because the top D isn't playing the top O. Idk why they don't let that happen exactly. It makes more sense to me to give both the top offense and defense a challenge by playing each other, but I guess I'm no coach. OP should definitely chill out, it will probably seem like a longer wait for fall than how long fall will last.

Did you expect the heavens to open up? God to anoint the starting QB? They played well - and better - at every position. Man up. Stop whimpering.

First, I find it interesting that you witnessed some interior DL that wore white shirts that weren't "lazy". Which ones were these? A few names maybe? No? Ok moving on. Second, Mike Martin is out. Hes a top tier B10 Dlmen. Your going to lose something with a talent like that sitting out. Third, Banks/Sagesse and Will all looked active and weren't getting blown off the ball. Please enlighten us as to who was playing "lazy".

You're disappointed in the defense and the rush offense? Wouldn't the defense be somewhat responsible for the supposed poor performance of the rush offense? People have said it before, but it was just a scrimmage. I thought it was great to see some live football in April. I guess I'm just an optomist...

RR said they kept things vanilla for the spring game. I wouldn't be too worried. When Martin gets back and they mix in the occasional blitz, things may be different.

Well, it only took one day for one of those guys...you know the guys...the ones who sit behind you about 10 rows...and complain how everything sucks...and how everything used to be better etc. etc. etc. to post speculation about the upcoming season. Thanks OP, that was pointless.

Cox looked solid (Boom!). Dude has some wheels. Defense just blew up some plays, as they should. In fact I feel much better about our defense against power running teams this Fall. Hopkins is your prototypical bruiser back that can pick up the 2 or 3 yards we need when we're in a short yardage situation. Shaw had his moments as well. Overall, I was pretty happy with the RB group. Provided that at least 2 in this group stay healthy, we'll be fine.

Forcier did ok, not great against the 1st string defense. Last year, the Michigan offense was at least average in the Big Ten. The reason we had such a rough season was because the defense was far below average. Now, certainly Forcier is at least as good as last year and probably a little better. The fact that he didn't light up the first string defense means the defense is significantly improved, which is cause for celebration. Those with better memory than me can verify this, but I seem to recall that in the spring game last year, the first string offense looked awesome against the first string defense. We all assumed the defense would be good, so this gave us too rosy of an outlook. Go Blue!

NO SHIT Buddy! You by far have one of the worst defensive lines in the whole fuckin NCAA. Your qb can't hold on to the damn ball, your coach whines like a little bitch after you lose! My god I'm sure your cheerleaders give our players head after we fucking beat you every year lol. I can't wait for this year too baby! 7 years in row that we will have kicked your asses and gone on to either the rose bowl or national scene. How can you live with yourselves after fucking sucking so bad like you have the last 7 years? Oh wow you beat Florida, wow your only fall back win. PATHETIC. When was the last time you beat us uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, hmmmmm 2003. LMAO. God your school has become such a joke, your coach is an idiot plus now your being busted by the NCAA for cheating when it didn't even help you in the first place LMAO. God I can't wait to see all of you bitch and moan like you did last year. You've been our bitch for the last decade since 2000 and you still are lol.

I see you've heard about the Ohio State offense today. There goes any chance of a National Championship this year! Worried about the Michigan game already, little man?
