Spring game Uniforms
There's people out there who want maize jerseys, white pants or even blue pants. Some dislike it because it ruins tradition.
Watching the spring game, we have a BLUE team and MAIZE team. But the maize has white jerseys. For all the maize jersey lovers out there, Michigan should get maize jerseys for the spring game. I'm not saying I love maize jerseys, but its a scrimmage, get scrimage jerseys. Hell, even have the blue team wear all blue. It doesn't ruin any tradition because its a damn scrimmage.
Spring games should also be for trying new things. Next yr the spring game should be at night, not really, but if we have a record crowd for the spring night game next yr, it tells the athletic department Michigan fans truly are in favor of more night games. If fans see diff jerseys in reality when it's not a game, and it turns into a positive maybe they turn those electric jerseys into game jerseys.
Personally, I wish one team could just wear those stylish orange caps for the whole game. They can draw straws to determine who gets the privilege.

In high school our scout team wore them and it was always hilarious to hear the one coach say "get the jimmy-caps!"
Really?
Why did Jack Kennedy not have a red number? Yes, I know than him being injured would not be a huge liability for the team, but he is still a QB.
Fodder
Maybe they took away his red number after he pasted that guy out of bounds :)
A quote from the movie "Rudy" comes to mind...
"You'll be running the opposition's plays week in and week out. Your greatest value to us is, we don't care whether you get hurt. Our first teams are gonna pound on you like you're their worst enemies. Like what you hear so far? Any of you want to run home to Mama? Now's your chance."
don't belong here.
That being said I like your avatar.
Rudy is a figment of a your immagination. Never happened.
I heard the guy had one (1) tackle against Georgia Tech. Hardly something that you make a full length movie about...
are easier for Lee Harvey to aim at.
Too soon?
This will not go well for you. Very bad ideas backed by weak logic and childishly-written sentences. And I see that you up-voted yourself in preparation for the negbang. Also not a good strategy.
Actually, weren't the maize and blue teams comprised of both blue and white jerseyed players?
Offense wore white and defense wore blue, regardless of which team they were on.
The offense was white and defense was blue, but I guess it could be applied the same. I guess if they are going to consider doing a change in jerseys, the spring game would be a good place to do it.
1. Honestly, how many Spring nights have comfortable enough weather to sit outside for three hours?
2. Should we also change the helmet color scheme for the Spring Game? You know, "just to try it out?"
You want them to truck in portable lights for a night spring football game? Think it through - there is a budget believe it or not.
No, "New Jersey" does not "rule" ... but there are so new rules associated with attire.
Teams no longer have to wear white for road games if the two teams have opposing color schemes.
Blue clad Michigan v. Scarlett clad tO$U anyone?

Um, you must never have been to Michigan before, because APRIL IS FUCKING COLD when the sun goes down. As in, sometimes it snows. You think people are gonna get up off their ass in 35 degree weather on a Saturday night to go watch a practice?
there will be corporate advertising in the future and there will be the first true night game ever at Michigan Stadium in 2011. Do we really need maize jerseys for a home game?
Really? Come on!
Michigan wears solid blue jerseys with Maize numbers at home and white on the road. If you want maize jerseys watch basketball or go see how it looks on Cal of WVU.
This is Michigan, we don't do that here.
Corporate Advertising is still 100% off the table, according to Dave Brandon.
That is because one of Dave's philosophys is: if you are unsure what to do; ask your customers.
Dave Brandon represents!
I just hate seeing red intermingled with Michigan's colors, even if it keeps the QBs from getting Branched. I hate Rich Rod's red wristband, too. That is the color of the enemy. Isn't there some other color that will catch the eye? Hunter orange maybe? Seeing red on a Michigan coach or player is much worse than them holding a public practice in maize jerseys. That said, it's a slippery slope to the Oregon trail, where you die from dysentery, quarterback crimes, and awful color combos.
that next year will actually have a maize team and a blue team, and play a damn game. not situational stuff.
Agreed. It would be cool if half the stadium took the maize team, and half took the blue team to cheer for. Maybe assign teams beforehand by section or something, and plan to wear that color.
That would be awesome.
Although I appreciate the large bid Adidas made to win the Michigan contract I am hoping that Nike gets it together and makes a larger bid to win the contract back.
It may just be me, but I don't really understand why people care about this.
Why do you care about this? Do you have stock in Nike?
Michael Jordan has apparently brainwashed a portion of the population.

Is it really hard for anyone to believe that some people just prefer certain brands? I like Asics running shoes, Nike basketball shoes, and Adidas tennis shoes because they just work better for me in each case. I also prefer Nike clothing over Adidas because it typically fits me better.

It isn't about preferring another brand, I understand that concept. I used to work to build brand loyalty, so I understand it. I buy Tide, Land O' Lakes, and go to Meijer.
But this isn't brand loyalty. This has little to no effect on people, yet it comes up quite frequently. It seems so irrelevant.

"This has little to no effect on people"
This is a lie perpetrated by our enemies. Flee from it.
If this isn't about brand loyalty, what do you think this is then? Did Bill Martin sacrifice a rabbit when signing the contract, thus putting some sort of evil hex on the program?
Although that might certainly explain the 2008 season.

I honestly believe that is what some people believe. And that is sad.
i just hope we go back to nike sometime soon...the year let alone options with adidas is not very good.
