Is it immature to understand the English language?

Apparently so, Dudeness... and in this current world of participation medals and bend-over backwards political correctness, no one dares correct someone else

Nothing like tossing out the old cliche PC defense when people call you out. Maybe make a first amendment defense while you're at it too.

I have a tradition to never watch an iowa game unless were playing them..what a boring team to watch
September 3rd, 2017 at 3:21 PM ^
Ferentz is their coach, and he's an absolute madman. Opposite of boring, dude.
September 3rd, 2017 at 3:26 PM ^
That's a technical foul right there.
September 3rd, 2017 at 3:02 PM ^
This is great, man. Thanks for sharing
September 3rd, 2017 at 3:04 PM ^
Why would they subject those poor kids to Iowa football? Aren't they going through enough pain already?
September 3rd, 2017 at 8:51 PM ^
funny
September 3rd, 2017 at 9:35 PM ^
in a position to understand just how not funny that comment is.
September 3rd, 2017 at 9:55 PM ^
his joke was about boring Iowa football.
Spare me your santimony.

between Iowa fan experience and that of suffering children - in the hospital. But yeah, edgy, ha ha, anything goes for the lulz.
September 4th, 2017 at 10:48 AM ^
I also thought the joke was funny.

Did you forget they still have scoreboard on us?
September 3rd, 2017 at 3:06 PM ^
Wanna tell us what the tradition is? Not all of us want to go to twitter and watch a video.

Iowa fans debuted the Big Ten’s latest gameday tradition in its season-opening victory over Wyoming on Saturday.
Let’s just say that it’s certain to be a hit.
With the new UI Children’s Hospital opening across the street, and constructed with plenty of windows to provide a view of the field, Iowa fans, all at once, will wave at the young patients and their families watching from the hospital.
Iowa fan Levi Thompson, of Hawkeye Heaven, is credited with creating the idea for the “First Quarter Wave.” Thompson had an anonymous fan write into his Facebook page, which has more than 100,000 likes, about how it would be great to do something for the kids.
“I wanted it to be something that I knew I could pull off with my platform,” Thompson said. “So I came up with a wave after the first quarter of every home game, letting the children know that we are all behind them and putting them in the spotlight.”
Well, the first “First Quarter Wave” was a resounding success.
“This is just the beginning of a great thing,” Thompson said, “and I do believe this will become the best tradition in all of sports.”

As Coldnjl said below, it wasn't clear from the video what the tradition is supposed to be.

Cool that they are not in the stadium and the fans acknowledge them! Happy people heal faster.
September 3rd, 2017 at 3:42 PM ^
What I like best about this is that multiple kids get to participate. Every time I see a single kid running for a touchdown during practice (or whatever) I think to myself that s/he won the lottery and that most others kids don't get to have a similar experience.
September 3rd, 2017 at 3:06 PM ^
Can someone define what the tradition is? I watched the twitter video but there is not sound...do they invite sick kids to games?
September 3rd, 2017 at 4:32 PM ^
Delete.

Thanks for sharing on here. I saw it yesterday and loved it.
September 3rd, 2017 at 3:16 PM ^
Stop cutting the onions! This is awesome.
September 3rd, 2017 at 3:36 PM ^
if they've only done it once?
September 3rd, 2017 at 3:37 PM ^
There's that dust cannon again.
Wasn't there a thing on Gameday or HBO Real Sports about this last year? Or is there another school that has a similar setup with their hospital?
September 3rd, 2017 at 3:40 PM ^
I remember interviewing for a residency at iowa. Neat how the hospital is so close to the stadium, but it was botter cold. Still enjoyed the visit.

Very cool and I've always appreciated Iowa's America Needs Farmers helmet stickers they started after the farm crisis in the 80s.
September 4th, 2017 at 11:00 AM ^
Why does America need helmet stickers from farmers?
September 3rd, 2017 at 4:09 PM ^
so basically they're taunting those kids who can't watch from the stands? nice.
September 3rd, 2017 at 8:52 PM ^
funny
September 3rd, 2017 at 9:37 PM ^
that I laughed at both of your posts!
September 3rd, 2017 at 4:12 PM ^
Very cool. Thanks for posting. Iowa looked very good in defense yesterday and may be a surprise challenger to WI in the West.
September 3rd, 2017 at 4:25 PM ^
Great idea. Well done, Iowa.
September 3rd, 2017 at 4:30 PM ^
apparently is a new thing, I was made aware of the fact that the new Children's Hospital at U of Iowa was specifically built in such a way that most of the patient rooms facing Iowa Stadium would have a good view of the field of play. Found this wonderful bit of information from some Iowa fans sitting near me when at last year's game.
September 3rd, 2017 at 5:33 PM ^
It is nice to see something like this where the primary concern was not "how can we monetize this?"
September 3rd, 2017 at 4:34 PM ^
Iowa wins. God bless those kids.
