Last I heard, Beilein was not expecting him to play basketball next year. Rothstein at Annarbor.com reported this on April 12:

Beilein doesn’t anticipate Kelvin Grady to return to the team saying, “it’s hard to even forecast that because I’m hoping they are in a bowl game.”

Didn't he miss a chunk of spring practice because he was still playing basketball (or at least sitting on the bench)? Could that have been why he didn't get on the field?

Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Grady was on the team. He just didn't see any playing time, but I thought half way through the year he joined the team and rode pine the rest of the year. Then Rich Rod basically said were not doing that again.

He sat out the spring game with a minor injury. No big news to report. He had been practicing this spring, both at slot receiver and a bit at tailback.

He did practice with the basketball team toward the end of the year, too, but he never played.

I was sitting at breakfast around 8am and Kelvin walked in with a female friend...I said hello and asked him if he was playing today..."nope, injured my ankle" I said bummer and good luck this season.
