Oh,man, the throwback '90s X-Men Blue Team alternate would be so awesome.
August 27th, 2017 at 3:13 PM ^
The wolverine with the brown is how we're rolling this year. Straight up killer.
August 27th, 2017 at 4:09 PM ^
Too late; somebody already found it.
August 27th, 2017 at 2:44 PM ^
I've come to accept that sometimes the jersey will change, but I do wish we could at least restrict the changes to our lowest-profile games.
/my lawn, be off it
August 27th, 2017 at 2:46 PM ^
By the way, I fully recognize that bringing them out when no one is looking is antithetical to the "alternate jersey" movement. I also recognize that my preferences matter little.
August 27th, 2017 at 2:49 PM ^
I don't disagree...I've always said if you have to, make it a non-conference game.
That said, I wish we NEVER did it, including the bowl game. Give us a preseason exhibition game and do it there. Or go ALL-Maize vs. ALL-Blue in the spring game and auction off the jerseys and donate the money to Mott's Children's Hospital.
But don't do it in the regular season, and if you must...don't do it in a B1G game or the bowl game.
August 27th, 2017 at 2:51 PM ^
I presume you prefer to win as long as we are going to play.
Yes, I would look for them in high profile games as opposed to the reverse. They are recruiting tools.
August 27th, 2017 at 3:02 PM ^
Not really...they're ways to get some brief attention and some extra money.
Championships are recruiting tools.
Bama doesn't use alternates...they seem to do fine. OSU does...they seem to do fine. You know what both have in common? They're pretty good at winning football games.
Jordan Brand itself is a recruiting tool. But one jersey isn't doing much.
Having a high profile coach, a catchy brand, an iconic helmet....and being MICHIGAN is plenty. Having a random alternate isn't going to do anything unless you're Oregon where every game is an alternate.
No one is coming to Michigan because we wore alternate uniforms a ton of time in the Brandon era. I haven't seen that return on investment.

Comments like "Amen." and "This." seem to be everyone's least favorite but eff 'em because:
Amen., and
This.
August 27th, 2017 at 4:27 PM ^
This guy gets it ^^.
August 27th, 2017 at 5:57 PM ^
Palabra a tu madre.
August 27th, 2017 at 3:47 PM ^
Alternates don't do much for me. As you pointed out, Michigan has a hell of a lot to offer with the iconic helmet, fight song, tradition, Big House, strong alumni, 110k + every Saturday that love their Wolverines, etc. I love the all-whites. We beat the ass out of the Gators in our all-whites, so why not trot out there this Saturday dressed the same way. Perhaps there will be some type of negative mental reaction for the Gators that were present for that beat-down.
August 27th, 2017 at 7:26 PM ^
Oregon? Winning, uniforms, coaching, stadiums, and all other details of a program are recruiting tools. Different aspects appeal to different recruits.
August 27th, 2017 at 2:47 PM ^
that help with Jersey sales? Come on, we all know it's about selling jerseys and what better way to advertise an alternate jersey than a nationally televised game against a big name school
August 27th, 2017 at 3:23 PM ^
Particularly in Ohio. If we could find a way to start selling alternate jerseys like hotcakes in Ohio, that would be a good start.

Love it. Now if we could only get Willie Heston to suit up again.
August 27th, 2017 at 2:46 PM ^
Maize and? Maize and what?!
Dear God, please don't tell me that's Maize and Maize!
Can someone confirm? My Counterstrike is taking FOREVER to load!
August 27th, 2017 at 2:51 PM ^
Probably cause all the kids play CS:GO now!
August 27th, 2017 at 2:46 PM ^
CoachSamz
Seems legit.
August 27th, 2017 at 2:46 PM ^
I've heard a rumor of all maize...I have a hard time envisioning any all-maize design that is visually appealing....
August 27th, 2017 at 2:51 PM ^
Source?
August 27th, 2017 at 2:56 PM ^
My source lol that's all I can give. But, he passed it along as "just something I've heard" rather than the usual statement of fact so I just took it as something that was being considered. Though if it is being considered in August I would assume they have the design ready and the capabilities to deploy it.
August 27th, 2017 at 3:07 PM ^
So no source.
August 27th, 2017 at 3:38 PM ^
They meet in a parking garage... in the Blue section.
August 27th, 2017 at 4:29 PM ^
Not naming a source doesn't mean no source. FWIW I read it on Scout and might be the same place he read it. But that was about experimenting with it in practice not a game. I would hate maize and maize and can't imagine a way it looks good whatsoever.
August 27th, 2017 at 4:59 PM ^
I suppose I have to hash this out every time somebody asks on here. I walked on to the team, was on for a cup of coffee, did not stay for a whole year. I had buddies that played all four years. From that time I have player sources that still get info on the team. I am also acquaintances with an assistant strength coach. After I left the team I worked elsewhere in the AD while still a student. I have connections from there that also tell me some ongoings in the football department.
As I've said before, there's a good chance that the "insiders" on the pay sites talk to the same people/circles that I do.
I don't claim to be a umbig11 - he is clearly inside the walls, plugged in. I am just occassionally plugged in to people who are plugged in.
August 27th, 2017 at 7:53 PM ^
Whoa. I know this about you from previous posts so I was giving you a hard time but not being serious. Haha. I don't expect you to give up sources. No worries. In 6 days our boredom will be over and we can argue about real game action.
August 27th, 2017 at 4:07 PM ^
All Maize sounds terrible, but a neutral site game as the road team is the time to do it if it has to be done.
If it happens, it's pretty clear it's all Harbaugh's call.
August 27th, 2017 at 4:12 PM ^
Agreed, on all accounts including the first lol
August 27th, 2017 at 9:58 PM ^
I would LOVE all maize jerseys. I have been hoping for this since I became a fan as a child. The all maize basketball jerseys were amazing ! Please be all maize !!!!
August 27th, 2017 at 3:03 PM ^
"Dotman" on scout
August 27th, 2017 at 3:14 PM ^
I'm not on scout. I do listen to Sam's radio show, but I don't have a subscription.
August 27th, 2017 at 2:55 PM ^
Not a fan..
August 27th, 2017 at 3:03 PM ^
I've heard this was supposed to happen for the PSU night game, but they went with all blue instead.
August 27th, 2017 at 3:30 PM ^
This is the only maize jersey mock up that I've seen that isn't awful because its paired with the blue pants. I wonder what it would look like with white pants though
August 27th, 2017 at 5:45 PM ^
Awful.
August 27th, 2017 at 4:07 PM ^
with yellow letters, stripes and socks. Would these all be road uniforms? I thought Michigan was the home team in Texas?
August 27th, 2017 at 4:32 PM ^
It makes them look like a collection of butter sticks
August 27th, 2017 at 6:41 PM ^
commence eye bleach. the only neutralizing agent: Michigan TDs
August 27th, 2017 at 7:00 PM ^
The best one is the last and most recent one put together....
And it still sucks.
August 27th, 2017 at 7:32 PM ^
If nothing else, these uniforms are definitely OSHA-compliant. You could work in the municipal right-of-way in these and be sufficiently visible to anyone and there would probably be no safety violations in that respect. If that's what you want in a uniform, these would accomplish that, although I believe they are - as many "alternates" seem to be - a Photoshop phenomenon.
August 27th, 2017 at 8:57 PM ^
Alternate jersey
August 27th, 2017 at 3:57 PM ^
Michigan is the visiting team. Doubt it'd be all maize.
August 27th, 2017 at 4:54 PM ^
That said, Michigan could wear it's regular home uniform and Florida could wear all orange or orange with white pants.
Michigan and OSU could both wear their home uniforms for The Game, if they wanted to.
August 27th, 2017 at 5:04 PM ^
Nice collection of pics!
