OT: New Northwestern facilities
The BTN crew is finishing their B1G West previews this week and are in Evanston today. This included a look at the new football practice facilities, which look pretty great, though not necesarrily desirable come November. Indoor facility not yet complete
Are you kidding me with this view? These new Northwestern facilities were done right: pic.twitter.com/7x0JGtM3VK

Those outdoor fields aren't new--they were used last season

It may be a shitty stadium but it puts you right next to the action. I was at the "M00N" game and my son was able to celebrate with the team after as they walked out.

It's adequate for what they need

I loved that stadium...it isn't flashy, but warm, has great sight lines, and is just what they need. If you want a bigger, emptier stadium, see Miami

to see him do a similar pan shot of Illinois' practice fields. They are... modest.

Those are beautiful facilities. Here in the Chicago area, there was some grumbling about Northwestern allocating lakefront land to football, and a practice facility. But that's pretty nice. Personally, the breeze off the lake would be a welcome thing for practice in August and September. And depending on the day, it wouldn't be bad in October. Beyond that? Dicey.

Who cares the west is irrelevant. Who is going to be the next Wisconsin to lose the championship game 63-0. Hmm probably Wisconsin because they lose it every year. I don't see a west team winning the big ten for at least ten years no matter how great anyone thinks there facilities are. Sorry for being so hateful, but just to many articles about or with buckshits in them. I want osu football takin away from those slobs down there so they literally have nothing.LOL.

Team may have gone 1-10, but at least your brother got into the end zone a couple times.

'76 was his senior year, and if IIRC they had a surprising amount of talent on his teams, guys that made it in the NFL - greg boykin, pete shaw, randy dean, norm wells among others. he was invited to 3 different camps and said 'nope. going to grad school' a very good decision on big bro's part.
incidentally, i didn't neg you, not that you care too much.

I can only warn not to be seduced by how pretty the campus is. It doesn't feel pretty when it's been -15 with 50 mph winds for a month straight.

Just think of what it'll look like when they finally blow up Norris and build a campus center that 1. takes advantage of the lakefront, and 2. doesn't suck.
It's amazing to me how people in the 1970s looked at the lakefill and the views therein and decided "Yes, let's just build everything out of concrete and only put in tiny windows."

Very cool. Though I hope no one freezes to death come December.
I think NW can make a push for the west this year. This is their best chance.
