OT (Sort of): Hump Day Quiz -- Michigan and the Heisman
Welcome to another Hump Day Quiz. First, the usual instructions:
Please do not research and then post the answers -- anyone can do that and it proves nothing; it spoils the fun for others; and it will not make your penis grow larger. So why bother.
I suggest that after reading the question(s), you scroll immediately to the bottom and submit your answers, to avoid any spoilers. Then go back and read what everyone else has posted.
Now to the Quiz:
We all (should) know that Michigan has had three Heisman winners -- Harmon (1940); Howard (1991); and Woodson (1997). What you probably don't know is that 24 OTHER TIMES a Michigan man has finished in the top 10 in Heisman balloting.
Question: Can you name all the Michigan players who have finished in the Top 10 in Heisman voting?
(Of course you can't; neither could I. Try to name as many as you can. Several players made the list more than once, so there will not be 24 different individuals. If you can also name the player who won the Heisman in those years, well -- good for you, and let us in on it.)
Bonus Question: Four Michigan players have made the Top 10 in more than one year. Can you name them?
Double Secret Bonus Question: Just one Michigan player has made the Top 10 in three years. Who is he?
As usual, the answers, along with some interesting history and commentary will appear on tomorrow's blog. Best of luck and thanks for playing.

AC is definitely correct on the 3x club.
Not sure who else is up there ... Archie Griffin, for sure. Maybe Herschel? Has to be a pretty short list.

Jamie Morris?

I'm guessing Hart was in the top 10 a couple times. Pretty sure there were at least 2 years where he was right in the conversation most of the year it seemed.

ehhhhhhhhhhh I'll just rattle off some names that i think were in the top 10
Jabrill Peppers, Denard Robinson, Mike Hart, Braylon Edwards, Chris Perry, David Terrell, Charles Woodson, Tshimanga Biakabutuka (yes i googled the spelling), Tyrone Wheatley, Derrick Alexander, Elvis Grbac, Desmond Howard. Anything before the ninties is pretty foggy for me, just going to throw in some Bo dudes: Jim Harbaugh, Jamie Morris, Anthony Carter, Rick Leach, Butch Woolfolk, Billy Taylor and before Bo we all know Tom Harmon of course. Any other names are probably only memorable to Craig Ross who has been at every home game in Michigan Stadium since 1927.

Bonus Question:
Harmon, AC, Braylon, Denard

Harmon

Biakabatuka should have too. I'm not going to try to list all 24, just throw a couple new names out.
Anthony Carter should have been up there multiple years, I'll add Leach, Wheatley and Hart as the ones who made it twice.

Peppers, Perry, Harbaugh, Carter, Friedman...and I have nobody else. Maybe Wheatley?
August 23rd, 2017 at 9:41 AM ^
Peppers, Hart, Perry, Hensen, Braylon, Terrell, A Train, Tim Biakabutuka, Wheatley, Harbaugh, Leach, Anthony Carter, Dennis Franklin, Oosterbaan, Kramer, a bunch of old RBs who split votes between each other, a bunch of quarterbacks?

My guesses from the 30 or so years I've been watching Michigan football:
- Jabrill Peppers - 2016
- Denard Robinson - 2010
- Mike Hart - 2006
- Braylon Edwards - 2004
- Chris Perry - 2003
- Tim Biakabutuka - 1995
- Tyrone Wheatley - 1992
Other guesses that I'm less sure about: Anthony Thomas (2000), Jamie Morris (1987), Anthony Carter (1982), Rick Leach (1978), Rob Lytle (1976).
August 23rd, 2017 at 1:39 PM ^
For double secret bonus, I'll say Anthony Carter.
Top 10 finishes:
AC (I think Herschel Walker was one of the winners)
Peppers
Jaime Morris?
Leach?
Braylon Edwards?
Others -- I am bad at this one (not that I am good at any of these, but I just never follow the Heisman).
August 23rd, 2017 at 1:54 PM ^
Anothony Carter
Rick Leach
Ron Kramer
The 4th I don't know... Rob Lytle, Harmon or Wheatly.
August 23rd, 2017 at 4:10 PM ^
Morris
August 23rd, 2017 at 5:30 PM ^
Tom Harmon, Bob Chappius, Bob Timberlake, Rob Lytle, Rick Leach, Anthony Carter, Desmond Howard, Charles Woodson, Chris Howard, Denard Robinson
Bonus: Harmon, Leach, Carter, Robinson
Bonus 2: Carter
August 23rd, 2017 at 11:33 PM ^
I'm guessing three QBs from the 1960s to early 70s should have been in the running for Heisman trophies: Bob Timberlake, Don Moorhead, and Dennis Franklin.
