Fall Camp Notes: QB Battle is Real

Submitted by EastCoast Esq. on

Steve Lorenz of 247 is reporting that...

The quarterback battle "is real" and is "far more intense than last year".

He has some other fall camp tidbits, but the article is paywalled, so I won't mention them here. Needless to say, though, I'm very surprised by this development. Hopefully this means that Peters is performing above expectations, rather than that Speight is regressing or plateauing.

If Peters (or even O'Korn??) wins this battle it will mean that they are going to provide us with better QB play than Speight did last year, and I thought Speight did a damn fine job. Exciting news.

Exceptional service. Every single USAA rep I have dealt with has been competent and polite. It doesn't seem to matter which department you reach because they all seem to be very well trained and equipped to handle whatever curve ball you throw at them. In stark contrast to Comcast, in 17 years I've been on hold maybe twice for a total of a couple minutes. I recommend the shit out of USAA if you have access.

Per the many body shop owners I work with Progressive and Geico have the tightest reimbursement policies forcing repairs with non-OEM parts and cut corners.  It makes it difficult to properly repair your vehicle.  Their vehicle owners return with the highest percentage of complaints.  They also obviously have very large marketing budgets, so I suppose that is where your premiums go.

Harbaugh's had a "REAL" QB battle every year. Until game week.

HTTV last year was sure it would be O'Korn based on camp/practice reports.

Rudock was in a battle with Shane Morris http://www.hawkcentral.com/story/sports/college/iowa/football/2015/04/16/jim-harbaugh-makes-first-public-remarks-jake-rudock-transfer/25883501/

My money is still on Speight, but glad that there's competition.

Four QBs saw the field against Hawaii last year. Malzone was one of them. Brandon Peters wasn't. If 4 QBs see the field against Cincinnatti or Purdue, I bet the 4th is Malzone, not McCaffrey. That means Malzone is 4th string and McCaffrey is redshirting. If 2 or 3 of the QBs ahead of Malzone get serious injuries, then look for McCaffrey to move ahead of Malzone.
