Fine, remind us of the 1983 one that got away!
Thank you.
I was hoping this was going to be some crazy story about him gambling and banging strippers.
/dissapointed
who, after seeing how much MORE of a dick MJ has become since he retired, really doesn't look at his career with fondness? greatest? likely. the greatest in his own great mind who feels the great need to let every non-great person in this great world know that he is, in fact, the mf'ing greatest? absolutely.
Does he even talk to the media or appear in public at all? I don't remember the last time I heard anything about Jordan.
Also, he was really damn good.
I don't care how big of a dick he is. I will never regret wanting to be like mike. It was a joy to watch every second of his career.
I know what it is like to want to be like someone awe inspiring.
Ever since he was known as Little Neddie Knickers, it was my dream to be as fast as Ned Nederlander. I practiced every day for hours and hours. He was a god to me. Then I found out about movie tricks. Trick photography. I was crushed.
Would you say that Jordan had a plethora of points?
Do you know what "plethora" means? How can you say he had a "plethora" of points if you do not know what "plethora" means??
+1 for Three Amigos.
As a Piston fan, I never cared for him in the first place. I'm not sure he's become more of a jerk. He just doesn't have the great basketball play to distract us anymore.
You might lack objectivity. MJ was as great an ambassador to the NBA as Tiger was to golf if you consider how popular the persona's made their respective sport. Like Tiger MJ is/was far from perfect but for the time that he held the spotlight he was as close to perfect as perfect could be percieved.
I'm not saying he wasn't a phenomenal player. But he was the same person off the court then that he is now. His entourage just did a great job then of keeping it under wraps.
Lebron can dunk, but no one can dunk like Jordan could. Jordan just owned people around the rim like no one before him and no one after him.
Watch the dunks that won Jordan the two dunk contests again. At the time they were ground-breaking, but now they're just routine.
A great dunker, in my epinion, isn't defined by what he does in dunk contests, but rather what he does in games. MJ had the insane ability to elevate, attack the center/forward in the air, and then soar some more before throwing it down. All while being relatively small, not some hulking man-beast like Lebron.

word
"What about me?"
When Mike got up there, i mean it was like there was a magnetic pull to the basket. But... to your credit... I present to you...
You need to embed the "Damn it feels good to be a gangsta" version. Gives it more of an ambiance.
thanks for also giving me an excuse to bring up my favorite sports nickname ever:
Joe "Barely Cares" Barry Carroll
He made a lot of people look pretty silly around the rim. The last highlight is definitely a classic.
It must have been really hard to come up with a top ten. MJ has probably hundreds or thousands of dunks that can be on the top ten. It was fun to watch MJ play and what made him great was his ability to win. Six rings is pretty good.

The greatest individual performance in sports history.

In Game 6 of the 1988 Finals, Isiah Thomas scored 43 points, including a Finals-record 25 in the third quarter, despite suffering a serious ankle sprain in that middle of that quarter. Against Utah, Jordan just had a flu bug.

I'll take Dr J, thanks. It is Dr J who Jordan et al emulated when they were learning how to play. It was Dr J who came up with the dunk from the foul line. I think the Doc was much better compared to everyone in his time than anyone else has been compared to everyone in their time.

was going to be a Space Jam clip. Isn't that kind of how "Newman" introduced him for his baseball game at the end?
We should have known all along that Marv Albert was a perv.
This clip was so awesome that it actually got embedded in a New York Times article on calculus yesterday. For all the tall white math nerds who dream above the rim:
