Florida Starting Safety Marcell Harris To Miss 2017 Season With Torn Achilles Tendon
At least mine has more info....
... I'll take the 'L'
Harris played in all 13 games last season and started in eight at safety. Overall in 2016, the Orlando, Fla. native totaled 73 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, one sack, two interceptions, one pass breakup, one quarterback hurry, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Harris has appeared in 37 games during his career at UF.
don't think he said that.
You shouldn't do anything involving logic or assumptions. Steer clear of the LSAT at all costs.
his replacement.
Season enders are just the damn worst, don't care which team he's on.
I hope no one would. That said, there's no question that this injury improves our chances in Game 1.
But hey, we just need to play our game. Go Blue.
our chances didn't need improving
I didn't realize we had a 100% chance of winning the game
Well now you do
Totally justifiable cases for a 6th year rarely seem to get them. Hopefully the NCAA gets one right.
Win the game.
would wish him a full and speedy recovery, and thoughts and prayers, but I doubt very much that he has any interest in what I think or say.
Damn. Awful news for a guy who was poised to have a breakout season.
That's a tough injury for a db. Wish him a solid recovery.
This happened to me 2 years ago, rehab not so much fun
You tore your achilles before you were going to start at safety against Michigan? Must have been the Citrus Bowl. How did 41-7 feel?
So now we will win by 15 instead of 10.
I wish him a speedy recovery and I hope the NCAA does the right thing and grants him a 6th year. Knowing them, they won't, but we can dare to dream.
That being said, this definitely improves our chances for winning that game. Florida's defense will be a stiff enough challenge, and this opens the throwing window for Speight and a crop of very talented but inexperienced receivers just a little bit more.
It might open up throwing windows for Speight, but it also depends on how Florida decides to compensate. Do they put a nickel or dime guy back there to compensate? Or at least cheat LBs back further away from the LOS to help out in coverage?j If so, it would ease up the pressure on our O-Line & running lanes.
But they could also just go as-is & see if maybe our young WRs have a hard time getting open even with a diminished Florida secondary and/or our O-Line has a hard time in pass protection.
Either way, it should make things a bit easier for our offense. Stinks the player though, especially if it's a season-ender and he's a 5th year senior. This is absolutely what those 6th year redshirts should be used for. Hopefully he gets it.
And not a fun injury. Hopefully, the young man can make a full recovery and get back to playing ball. Feel bad for him, but we must still destroy them.
GO BLUE!!
that Florida has only 3 returning starters now.......How many do we have?
Speight.
And I consider Hurst a returning starter. He was playing over half the snaps by year end.
Think he meant defensive starters. We bring back Cole and Bredeson on the line, along with the Hammering Panda on offense as well as Speight.
That's the side of the ball that supposedly gives us the most worries. Even with only 1 returning starter on the UM defense, I trust Brown, Mattison & the UM recruits to win that battle.
Hate it for the young man and I would rather beat them at full strength.
Nobody will remember this injury in December.
Just take the win and move on to Cinci game.
Do feel bad for the kid though.
Sucks for the kid, hope he fully recovers in time for whatever NFL chance he might have had... I'd rather win games outright than aided by injury to an opponent.
Sucks for him, wish him a fully and speedy recovery. Will definitely make things easier for us week 1 though - I don't care if we're playing them at full strength or against a practice squad, wins a win and I want it, and no pollster's going to remember come November that Florida was down a safety, they're just going to see we thumped them.
