HTTV Question

Submitted by A2Photonut on

So I had breakfast and just made my coffee and I decide to take a look at my HTTV and I almost immediately run into a conundrum.

I'm checking out the roster and they have these two seperate ranking bars from 1-4, one is for their star ranking and the other is for experience, the first is pretty much fact and the second is ...opinion?

I ask because Ty Isaac has a 1 bar in experience. What?

Has he lit the world on fire, no, but he's played every year he's been here (other then the obligatory transfer sit out year), last year he had 74 attempts for 400 yards. I think he would at least be a 2 bar in experience, minimum.

Jared Wangler, who played in 5 games and had 3 assisted tackles is a 2 bar in experience.

Drake Harris is a 2 bar in experience.

So I guess i don't understand the way the rankings work? Or it's a typo?

Just kind of curious, also I guess this could be a place for people to post their initial impressions if they so choose

That's a good question. I had three equal factors: starts/team games since arrival events/total team events by position, and years in program/5. On Excel I then automatically turned those numbers into bars using conditional formatting.

That's probably just an error. I thought the Wi-Fi bars are a brilliant idea to quickly display a player's status. Nice job Seth, or whoever came up with it.

I looked back at the data and Isaac is just a typo. I caught several others before we went to print. We had Isaac a 3/5 and he was just on the border of 4 (no starts is a big outlier).

The way I made this was I made a PDF printed from Excel and the art director replaced the low-res bars with high-res ones.

and in contributing to my having to do a couple of hours worth of work today to make up for the couple I somehow lost as I "browsed" HTTV yesterday at work.  Just for a couple of minutes, or perhaps hours.  Good book.

Good question. I was wondering the same thing. Thanks, Seth!

Always like to take the print copy on the plane with me when I fly back to A2 for games. My neighbor gets a Nebraska version and, of course, ours is always better. It's like Spring Training...helps get the juices flowing.
