NBA Finals - Who ya got?
The long awaited NBA finals finally start tonight as the defending NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers (boy that's got a nice ring to it) take on the Golden State Warriors and this marks the first time two teams have met three straight years in the finals. The Cavs come in 12-1 in the playoffs while the Warriors are 12-0 and have won an amazing 27 of their last 28 games.
ESPN polled 27 NBA experts and 23 have the Warriors winning with most picking them to prevail in 5 (top bet in Vegas by the way). Speaking of Vegas they have Golden State as a prohibitive -240 to win the series (you have to put up $240 to win $100) and the odds to win the finals MVP are Durrant the favorite at 7-5, Curry #2 at 8-5 and LeBron #3 at 2-1. Clearly the entire world thinks Golden State will make quick work of the Cavs.
Me? Well I think just about everybody here knows I'm not seeing things that way. I think as long as #23 is on the court Cleveland has a "punchers chance" of defending their title. I've got the Cavs in 7 in an epic repeat of last year's finals with a red hot Kevin Love being the surprise X factor when all is said and done.
Go Cavs!
I'll take the team with 12 monstrous freaks of nature
I'll take the match
OHIO AND ANYTHING REPRESENTING OHIO SUCKS
Charles Woodson, Desmond Howard and a host of other Ohio-born Wolverines would like a word with you.
Jim Harbaugh
They left Ohio for a reason.
Boom!!

Alas it seems I am stuck here forever. Moved from Detroit when I was a little kid and I've been stuck here since.. Now the Wife won't move so.... One day I'll get out of here. Florida just keeps looking better and better!!!
They ESCAPED Ohio.
They play for Michigan they represent Michigan
95% of the Cavs fans I know are OSU fans, and OSU fans don't deserve nice things.
I am greatly disturbed by the number of downvotes this comment received. I lost a lot of confidence in the Michigan fan base today. Really not a good day.
No matter how it goes, I want to see Lebron try and top his performance from last season's finals. It was an unbelievable watch and I can't wait to see him attempt it again.
I want to see LeBron drop 60 every game and have the Cavs win in 4, but I think GS has too much offense for Cleveland to keep up. Warriors in 5 or 6 unfortunately.
Love LeBron but Fuck Ohio. And yeah But Fuck Ohio is a good nickname for Columbus.
haha. He said buttfuck Ohio. I like Lebron but then again Kyrie thinks the world is flat so I'm conflicted on this one.
How can anyone love LeBron? Have to respect his talent, but he's a self centered whiney bitch.
When LeBron beats this Warriors team, the debate will be over.
Also: I'm still disappointed with you , KD. Used to be my favorite player.
Golden State in 6. Too much offense for Cleveland to stop.
Interesting considering the cavs are the most efficient offense right now.
Yeah, a lot of filthy casuals in here, but that's to be expected on MGoBlog. Also GSW have the best defense.
sure, but not by much
cavs' offense has been on fire all post season.
Or ya know, we all realize they've played some very inferior teams and well, PPP or whatever advanced metrics probably show that.
I want LeBron to win, but I don't see it happening unless role players play their ass off, GSW is just too good offensively
GSW in 4. BKFinest that shit
I agree. I wish it weren't so, but I don't think the Cavs can stop this Warriors team even for a game, especially with Durant. If Bogut hadn't gotten hurt maybe?
No way LeBron allows his team to lose every game at home. I want the Cavs to win, but I think GS will win in 6. LeBron can't win a series by himself but he'll steal a game or two. If Kevin Love can get hot the Cavs will push it to 7 games.
Warriors in 5 with Durant winning MVP. Curry will once again underwhelm though. Cavs have the players to tire Curry out and make him work like hell to get good looks. That's how they turned the series last year. Unfortunately for Cavs the Warriors replaced a dead man walking in Barnes last year with the second best player of the league
but I am anti GSW... Mistake by the Lake in 6
but Go Warriors
If by best you mean like 5th best then yeah I can agree with that.
Agreed. Westbrook, Harden, Curry, Wall, and Paul are all better than Irving.
You're out of your mind if you think Harden (LOL) and Paul are better. John Wall is also not as good.
Harden could win the MVP this year. How is he not better?
Wall improved every year and improved his teammates. Irving did NOTHING to improve those around him. Irving goes elsewhere he's all flash no substance. Put him on the Celtics and they're worse off than they are with Thomas.
But hey, he's got a killer crossover
You seriously think that Harden improves his teammates more than Irvin? Also, did you watch Thomas this postseason? He didn't look like he belonged on an NBA roster.
You mean when he scored 40+ than 50+ in back to back games?
Name 4 better. What a joke that someone thinks Wall is better than Irving. I've seen some good debates about different players here. Wall being better than Irving though is laughable.
Not really. Seems to be a debate with plenty of people on both sides. Not as laughable as you suggest.

Paul, Curry, Westbrook, Harden. Those are not even debateable to me.
Best handles? Sure.
Best in the East? Possibly.
Best overall? Not on your life.
Game on the line and the only pg I'm taking is Kyrie. He's be the first player is choose at any position
Over Curry? Come on man...

Yes, because Curry is liable to take one of his dumbass half court shots.
and make it, so what's your point?
That's just wild. He's very, very skilled, but he's clearly in the second tier.

Russ, Thomas, Curry have better +/- in the final five minutes in a five point game than Kyrie. Wall is right on his heels. You can play with the sliders to make them more favorable to Irving, I'm sure.
...played in the same amount of playoff games as me before LeBron came into his life. Like, in three years, he couldn't even get a team to "trash 8-seed that gets ham-blasted in Round 1."
Kyrie is the super-rich man's Ricky Davis.
I'll take whoever Stephen A doesn't pick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r06rvgRLSw.
I hope Golden State wrecks Cleveland, and I think they will. Might drop a game or two on an off shooting night (just hope not 3 in a row like last year).
Gonna be 3-1 Warriors, then the Cavs win one to make everyone talk "Warriors gonna blow a 3-1 lead," then Warriors win game 6. 4-2.
