Shelton Johnson question - has he left the program?
TTB (Magnus) shows this as happening and it has been discussed, but I don't recall anything official or tweeted out by the player
Based on the last couple years, I would count on most of the redshirt juniors moving on. If they have a monster year, they may declare for the NFL Draft. If they don't, they may pursue a graduate transfer to another school for their final year.
Some of the guys who fall in that category: Maurice Ways, Ian Bunting, Juwann Bushell-Beatty, Lawrence Marshall, Noah Furbush, Jared Wangler, Drake Harris, and Brandon Watson. Assuming 6 of those 8 move on after this year, you have at least 15 scholarships for next year. With normal attrition of 2 to 5 players on top of that, you get near 20 scholarships.
Agreed. I was trying to be conservative.
The class that concerns me is 2019. Scholarships could be really tight there unless there is attrition or a lot of early entry for the NFL Draft.
He is not going anywhere unless he blows up and gets drafted. Watson played significant minutes in a loaded secondary, so I don't see him going anywhere either.
I agree with you on the rest of the fellas.
There are 15 spots opening up for 2019, and we're 1.5 years away from National Signing Day for that class. Yes, some of those redshirt juniors will depart, but there will also be departures from the underclassmen (transfers, injuries, etc.) to prop that number back up.

I know that UM is in good shape with M. Muhammad but is there someone else that UM is currently in good shape with or is this just a general belief in UM/Harbaugh's ability to recruit TE's?

he was listed at 6'5" and 212 lbs. on the 2016 roster, for some reason he's had trouble putting on weight.
just hadn't seen anything official anywhere though that he left the program - both were suspended for a season if I remember correcctly
I wouldn't put too much stock in the weights listed on the roster. Many of them haven't budged a single pound since Harbaugh arrived. I think they've just stopped updating them. I know from the few times guys have told a reporter their actual weights that they don't correspond to what's listed on the roster.
