Conway is on his way to guru-approval

Submitted by A2toGVSU on

Rivals recruiting analyst Jamie Newberg with some love for Shawn Conway in his mailbag post:

"Conway, a wide receiver from Birmingham, Mich., looks like a big-time recruit and one of the better wideout prospects from the Midwest."

Of course, we already knew this, but it's good to see Conway get some guru approval.

The kid appears on film, faster than Miller, with hands close to Jackson's, and with ball skills probably better than Robinson's. About time mutha's.

who can help convert a 3rd and 8 and I'll be a happy camper. So many times our defense was kept on the field by someone who just ran to an area and just jumped up to catch an inaccurate high pass. He can be our hybrid TE/WR, this whole team is about hybrids anyway...

Once he becomes "Guru Approved", I can finally begin supporting him!! I don't trust anything my coach does until the Gurus confirm it!!!

I still think Rich Rod should have waited until the recruiting gurus praised him before making the offer. Why would any coach want to form their own opinion on a player when they could just look at star ratings?

I was openly skeptical of Conway at first. Watching his highlight tape he seemed pretty slow to me, I wasn't very impressed. It's pretty awesome that I've been proven wrong. I will now happily eat my crow.

It's important that he get an early 4* so we can all bitch about anti-Michigan bias when he ends up a 3*.

Man, if only RR had taken a chance on a kid like this! In our own backyard, blowing up and probably going to be a major pick-up for a team in need of an outside WR. Stupid RR and his myopic focus on big-name recruits in Florida and Ohio! You know, I bet he goes to State - this is why MSU is taking over this rivalry.
