Fuck man. I mean congrats for Jourdan but sucks for me as a Giants fan that now I have to watch taco and Lewis play for my enemy

As much as it sucks seeing the players we root for go to teams we don't root for, it's great to see a ton of Michigan guys spread around. Makes me excited to watch nfl games I would otherwise wouldn't care any less to watch.

I couldn't believe how many CB's were coming off the board ahead of JD.  Had to be 20+. This legal issue and upcoming jury trial really scared off a lot of teams.

Now I'm thinking about becoming a Cowboys fan again (loved them as a kid when Tony Dorsett played) but will always find it hard to root for Zeke Elliot.

Being on the shorter end without running a 4.3 will do that to you when it comes to the NFL draft.

That said, he should've been a mid-late 2nd round pick, IMO. His situation is different and has not been resolved. Hearing McShay talk about him was special though. He was spot on and if the Cowboys put him as a nickel CB and leave him there, he'll be awesome.

Someone has to matchup with all of those shifty slot WRs. Someone has to stay with the McCaffrey's and Samuels' like the Panthers just drafted. Those slot guys are finding homes on most/if not all teams in a major role. You have to counter with someone who can matchup with them. You can't just throw your tall CB you drafted to try and contain Julio Jones and AJ Green on those shifty guys.

I wish him nothing but the best with The BOYS! He's one of the best corners I've seen at a Michigan over the years. He an instate guy that loves Michigan and he don't take no shit from Buckeye players.

it's sour grapes, but it's mind-boggling to me that Gareon Conley and Marshon Lattimore would go in the first round instead of Jourdan Lewis. I know he's not the tallest corner, but Jourdan was attached to the hip of every receiver he covered throughout his career.

Lattimore has butter-fingers (lots of dropped punts), a history of injuries, and didn't play that much at corner.

Regarding Conley, I wasn't overly impressed with him. Hooker was the only defensive back Ohio had that seemed like he was worthy of a 1st round pick.

As you said, the Cowboys likely got a steal. I'm no Magnus, but I think Jourdan is going to have a long, succesful career like Leon Hall.

regarding punt returns, that was Jalin Marshall. He might've played as much as Hooker, but Hooker actually looked like a first round talent. Compare Jourdan's accomplishments and film against Lattimore, and aside from being a couple inches taller, Jourdan is the better corner.

Pro Football Focus backs up the tape with stats, here's a quote/link

"Lewis is a playmaker who, simply put, has been one of the top cornerbacks in college football over the past three years. He makes plays on the ball, and just doesn’t allow wide receivers much success against him, giving up just 905 yards in coverage between 2014 and 2016."

PFF does have Lattimore as their top corner, but with his injury history and the fact they are basing their evaluation really on 1 year, I think Jourdan is the better pick and hopefully he'll have a much longer and more succesful career.

Dallas gets a steal. Hope he balls out for them and shows everyone who knocked his height and speed. I don't think they realize how many good receivers he has locked down the past three years and they didn't get jack off of him. These owners and scouts are fucking stupid. I remember that Utah game in Ann Arbor three years ago. Fast little suckers just schooling the Michigan defense. Except Jourdan. He was ripping them punks. He'll hone his craft and overachieve.

This might be the best 2 days I've had as. Cowboys fan here in Texas in a while . So pumped to see them play here . Credit Greg Jackson our former DB coach for the picks. He coaches the Dallas secondary.

I'm not a Cowboys fan, but seeing Lewis and Taco do well there would be great.

Oh, and Drew Pearson wins major points with his draft announcement, too. That was 100% awesome.

This is why I put little stock emotionally into the NFL. I'd rather follow michigan guys up and watch them while not worrying too much about who they play for. And let the lions break me every season.

For one, I have little emotion to give after a Saturday of Michigan and college football.

But secondly, I love Michigan far more than anything in the NFL...so I root for all Michigan guys and love seeing them do well. I really don't care what team they play for - I just hope/wish the very best for them.

My healthy/unhealthy obsession with college football is really why the NFL is more background noise to me. It's also why I can't stop watching the draft, because it's so related to college football. For me, this kind of marks the end of the previous year and I really move on 100% to the upcoming year after the draft. Practice/Summer workout tidbits, here I come!

It's kind of interesting to see that thread on whatching players we love go to teams we loathe in these threads. As much as I am in no way a Cowboys fan and actually would have preferred that the Lions took Lewis because we could use him probably more than Tabor, it has been fun to watch Wolverines head to the next level at this volume - it's been a bit since we've been able to do that.

all 3 of our senior DL will get drafted and earn $17MM+ In total contract money. Not bad pay days when just 22 years old.
