Cesar Ruiz best center ever quote?

Submitted by chad on
I overheard Michael Spath on WTKA today saying that Harbaugh is quoted as saying Ruiz could be the best center ever. I've searched and can't find this anywhere or on Twitter. Anyone else here this or have a link? Edited... I guess the intent of this post is to see if anyone has the quote by Marty Smith. I can't seem to find it anywhere and I'm curious in what context Harbaugh was saying it. Either way I'd say it's a huge positive at possibly Michigan's greatest position of need. He said he has a chance to be the best center ever at Michigan. Couple of important qualifications there.

He has a couple of giants just within the last 15 years alone in Baas and Molk to catch, among all other centers in Michigan history. However, if he beats out Kugler this year, he'll get a lot of snaps in a Michigan jersey to cement his legacy.

All he said was/All this means is he has a ton of potential...

...there's nothing wrong with this statement.

Brandon Peters could be the best QB in Michigan history, DPJ could be the best WR in B1G history, Ruiz could be the best C ever.

because Harbaugh has thrown fluff out there for other underachievers.

Drake Harris, Derrick Green, etc.

If Harbaugh puts someone on a pedestal with comments it's usually for a reason.

See Jabrill Peppers, Peters.

I was just going to say, I recall Harbaugh at Stanford calling Andrew Luck the best QB in the country when he was a sophomore before the season, and people thinking he was crazy....obviously saying Ruiz is the best ever would be a tad premature and immense hyperbole, I just always have faith in Harbaugh's hyperbole because it usually has some basis in reality.

Every year we think the O-line can't possibly get any worse. I have for sure learned one thing in my life: whatever the situation is, it can ALWAYS get worse.

Is there even a definitive list?

If not, we can surely make one.

1) Cesar Ruiz

2) Dikembe Motumbo

3) That line from Cable Guy where Matt Brodrick uses the word center to descibe a nip to his mom

Sorry I still have cold sweat nightmares from "Patrick Kugler is the most college ready center we've ever seen... "  Wake me up in 2 years when people actually perform in actual games.

Well Magnus gave him a 99, and that really caught my eye... sounds like Ruiz at his age is farther ahead than anyone in their memory, and a forward projection can argue this.
