Seriously, WTF?!?

Can we please start banning people who see fit to just blithely ignore the rules against politics, religion, etc.?

I have lots of HAWT takes about religion that I would just LOVE to share with you all but I can actually read, understand and, most importantly, follow rules.

A lot of information in which you have little to no knowledge about.  I do not think Peppers faked any injury to skip out of the bowl game.  Peppers may or may not have had something in his system, I'd imagine no one on this blog can say for absolute certainty he did or did not.  I think he has a valid excuse for why his sample was diluted, but cramping is a common problem and keeping very hydrated is something a lot of athletes at the combine do and yet a diluted sample is not very common.  I don't think Peppers had anything to hide, but I absolutely do not know for certain.  Also, if you think for a fraction of a second that NFL teams and scouts take what Danny Kannell says on the radio or on twitter as gospel and drops Peppers of their board because of his comments, you are simply delusional.  Lastly , "Nobody in any profession should be able to use the platform they are given by their employer to negatively impact another person's employment/life without proper evidence behind their claims", I completely agree and wish that was the case in every profession, but it sadly isn't.  Danny Kannell is an asshole and was let go in a firesale of ESPN employees.  That is really too bad because I would have rather seen him go by saying something on the air that got him fired, which was bound to happen sooner or later.

He wasn't fired.  He was laid off.  Big difference.

No, I don't celebrate firings.  His job was provide "analysis" or more aptly hot takes to generate more eyes on the television.  He, along with Finebaum, are obvious trolls.

His take on Jabrill Peppers was out of line, and if I were him, I would apologize.  He also deserves criticism for those particular comments about Peppers.  However, he didn't cost Jabrill any money whatsoever as teams are well aware of the context and what a diluted sample actually means.

All the celebrating and literally childish hissy fits over anything trollish literally just feeds more trollish behavior.

I think that's true in regards to serious criticisms of legit negative comments. BUt some of the stuff that the talking heads put out is just garbage for the purpose of getting attention or clicks or retweets or whatever. See also Bayless, Skip. Some of these analysts are really just trolls who happen to be (marginal) sports figure who are given a bigger platform to spew bullshit. So for them, I have no concern if their discussions turn into dumb smack talk since I dont think they were really trying to have a serious conversation in the first place.

Yeah, I didn't like Kanner either and I'm certainly not bummed he was included in the lay offs, I'm not sure we need a thread to celebrate it.

Danny you were bad at your job and now you have no job !!! I would feel bad for your family but you made more money than most people in the world will ever see in their entire lives. So peace out loser !

Dude is also a former NFL player, so the whole money thing doesn't really get sympathy from me. He made millions playing a game, and if he doesn't have any money left from that, it is his fault.

He had an 8 year NFL career and 8 years as an on-air ESPN personality. He and his family will be just fine personally, however the college football media has benifited from some addition by subtraction today.

I won't forget when Danny was pleading for Michigan to start Shane Morris in 2015 when we were like 4-1. Saying Jim Harbaugh was wasting a future star on the bench by starting Rudock.

ordinarily I'd say it's in poor taste to celebrate someone losing their paycheck, but his comments this week about Peppers were similarly classless. So I guess what's good for the goose is good for the gator.

Sometimes when you throw stuff at the universe, it throws the stuff right back. It's not right to celebrate Kannell being losing his job, but it's certainly right to point out he did nothing to prove he deserved it.

i vote to fire freddy coleman, espn radio host... im sure he's a nice guy, but he's so unnatural, very awkward, nothing insightful to say really...

id put him up there with Jim Rome in terms of bad radio hosts... for somewhat different reasons than Rome
