And then be converted to a 2-way contract after camp. If he's in the NBA for the maximum of 45 days that' such a contract allows, he'll make a bit more than $250k, which isn't a bad deal. I don't expect he'll be drafted. Mason of Kansas looks to be a late 2nd, and as much as I love Walton, there's a gap between the two.

Most underrated player in the draft? He's a winner, plays bigger than his size on the boards, has a great three point shot, and is an excellent passer. I'd be ecstatic if he is drafted, can't think of a guy more deserving.

I'm hoping Yogi Ferrell's successful rookie year helps pave the way for Walton. Could see a similar path, hopefully late second round, if not then sign on with a summer league team... find a roster to stick with and work his way into a quality contributor eventually.

Late in the season I just kept having a feeling watching him that he was going to be someone like Derek Fisher. Never really a star but I guy that seems to stick in the league for a decade playing second fiddle to a star or being a spark off the bench.

Hope he gets a shot. He played like one of the best PGs in the country during the last two months of the season. 

I think the odds of him getting drafted are long, but if he has a great combine, someone might give him a chance.

Walton can still make serious money overseas. China would be a good place to be if he can handle the culture shock. CBA is dominated by lead guards who can score, has a short 40 game regular season, and usually pays >1 million USD after tax to American players. if he stays there for multiple years, there are huge potential for endorsement deals in a huge market. Stephen Marbury, at age 40, is still playing there and making a killing for himself. I can see Walton getting triple double on regular basis in China and be compared to Westbrook by the local fans and media.

Jokic is essentially a point-center, but they really need someone who can run an actual, factual offense when Jokic is off the floor, and who can manage the game in the 4th quarter. I think Walton has a fantastic chance to be a great backup point guard.

No disrespect to Walton or other posters, just asking b/c I'm curious.. why do folks think Walton would be a good NBA fit when Burke, a far superior athlete and individual player by most assessments, has not been able to find a foothold in the league? To be clear, I love Derrick Walton and want him to succeed in the NBA but just looking for what others think.

That's really the best they could come up with? The lack of creativity does not inspire confidence. I don't think I'll sign there.
