Devin Gardner potential injury
5 minutes ago I was driving up State St. and saw Devin Gardner walking to Schembechler Hall in a sling - it was his right arm. I didn't talk to him as I was driving but it was definitely DG. I don't know anything other than what I saw; maybe RichRod will touch on it if he holds a practice Q & A anytime soon.
I am not a troll and this is not an April fools joke. If you remember I posted a topic about Brandon Herron having knee surgery (http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/brandon-herron-needs-surgery-left-knee) and it was true.
I hesitated even posting this since I do not know anything beyond the fact that I saw him walking in a sling. Hopefully he is ok and can continue progressing this spring! Sorry everyone.
I can see the headline on the Rosenberg column that your post will inspire:
"RichRod's Recruits Spur Increase in Alcohol-Releated Deaths -- He'll Stop at Nothing to Win!"
ok - I'm officially changing my sig
This is just my hypothesis:
When I played baseball in high school I remember wearing a sling filled with ice all the time after practice. No I wasn't injured but if you didn't put the ice on it after pitching all practice you for sure weren't going to be able to move it the next day unless you iced it. I assume that Gardner being a QB probably has a similar technique since he would be throwing all practice. Since nothing has come out about an injury - I would assume this is the case rather than the worst case which would be an injury.
Well said and completely rational and logical.
He's probably throwing a lot more than he ever has before. So, an imminently logical possible explanation.
No biggie he can start throwing left handed, from what I heard his right handed form isn't very good anyway.
I'd walk around with both my arms in slings if I could.
I'm not sure if this has been posted before. It seems like its from a while back because his throwing motion looks better now. But this is a cool video that really displays his athleticism: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BAdmLPyVIo
Here's to hoping 'hail2thevict0r' is right.
He's practicing to be the first black star of a Kurosawa film? Mifune sure loved having his arms in sling-like positions...
Seven Samurai is one of the best movies ever made. +1,000 if I could...
Agreed, although that picture is from Yojimbo, haha.
I thought he wasn't making those anymore.
is reporting dorsey shot gardner. birkett confirmed. we are thru the looking glass here people.
potato salad.
Could be like a baseball pitcher - they often ice the arm after a game to lessen swelling/inflammation. Could especially be an issue as he is throwing more than he is used to, and stressing new mechanics/motion.
Please get better soon! DG you're the future, son. Big ups to the boys workin it on the practice field. Keep it up fellas.
the sling was a Danish book bag. You know finals week is right around the corner.
FWIW, he was in the union for lunch with a few linemen and looked fine to me. Will Campbell and Renaldo Sagesse are huge.
On a related note, water is wet.
I've seen Will on the bus a couple times...he is a mountain of a man. I know this, but it still surprises me every time.
Hopefully he's ok but it can't be anything too seroius because we would have heard about it by now. He probably just got a little dinged up.
