Devin Gardner potential injury

Submitted by mgolf4 on
5 minutes ago I was driving up State St. and saw Devin Gardner walking to Schembechler Hall in a sling - it was his right arm. I didn't talk to him as I was driving but it was definitely DG. I don't know anything other than what I saw; maybe RichRod will touch on it if he holds a practice Q & A anytime soon. I am not a troll and this is not an April fools joke. If you remember I posted a topic about Brandon Herron having knee surgery (http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/brandon-herron-needs-surgery-left-knee) and it was true. I hesitated even posting this since I do not know anything beyond the fact that I saw him walking in a sling. Hopefully he is ok and can continue progressing this spring! Sorry everyone.

I can see the headline on the Rosenberg column that your post will inspire: "RichRod's Recruits Spur Increase in Alcohol-Releated Deaths -- He'll Stop at Nothing to Win!"

This is just my hypothesis: When I played baseball in high school I remember wearing a sling filled with ice all the time after practice. No I wasn't injured but if you didn't put the ice on it after pitching all practice you for sure weren't going to be able to move it the next day unless you iced it. I assume that Gardner being a QB probably has a similar technique since he would be throwing all practice. Since nothing has come out about an injury - I would assume this is the case rather than the worst case which would be an injury.

Could be like a baseball pitcher - they often ice the arm after a game to lessen swelling/inflammation. Could especially be an issue as he is throwing more than he is used to, and stressing new mechanics/motion.
