Basketball transfer list
Obviously would love to have Mo Bamba, but just in case, here's the current list of transfers. This particular list makes a distinction between grad transfers and normal, Charles Matthews-type transfers (scroll down). Obviously, Michigan could also roll the scholarship forward
Would be fantastic if we could get Elijah Brown from New Mexico. Scoring PG to replace Walton.
While I wouldn't be upset with JB looking at transfers, I do think Xavier Simpson has done a fine job when thrown into action this year. Might not have the full game that Walton has, but I can see him getting there.
Simpson can already get to the rim. He needs to mature a bit but he's gonna be good.
Plus, he is just adorably tiny. It's like watching your kids play!
And my daughter is only 8 months old!
Yes please.
A former 5* from Bishop Gorman. I wonder why he's transferring. Not enough basketballs to go around at Duke?
Former 5 star and at 6-10. Do you know if he can stretch out to the 3pt line like DJ?
In almost 500 minutes played over two years with Duke, he's never attempted a three. So I'm going with "no, but we still definitely want him."
I'm not sure that JB would agree. His comments recently about what he looks for in a center pretty much made 3 point shooting a fairly high priority. Unless I'm mis-reading his comments...
If a guy is highly skilled, he can be valuable without being able to shoot threes. See: Mitch McGary.
Name that 3 point shooting center!
Don't think we would get Chase Jeter,
says he wants to be closer to home, Las Vegas.
Seems more likely it would be UCLA, USC, SDSU, Utah, UNLV, or Arizona or ASU for him.
He is a 5-star that has rode the bench for two years. He obviously wants to play.
Just read his bio on the Duke page. His dad was on the 1990 UNLV Runnin Rebels team.
and is not a good fit for Beilien's offense -- don't want.
He actually has back problems or do you mean he can't carry the team on his back?
They tend to match up well at Michigan
Hello, my name is Nathan LeClair and I maintain the VC database.
Thank you for posting our link! It's been crazy hectic right now with all these transfers.
Thank you for the work you do. I visit your site often to follow my alma mater (Azusa Pacific). There are not many sites out there that have updates on Div 2 recruiting.
I'm glad you like it! D2 is tricky to cover...not a whole lot of info out there on D2 info. Had a kid from there message me a couple days ago saying he's transferring.
Go Cougars!
Gasp! What kid? I take my high school basketball team out there each year to watch a practice. One of their assistant coaches was there when I was so I continue to follow them pretty closely.
Graduated in 2012. Small world. Didn't expect to find a fellow APU guy on MgoBlog.
But I just wanted to say COYS!!!!!
You just missed me then. I graduated in 08. Those crazy stories about huge parties in San Dimas you heard about as a freshman... that was me. Campus security was not my biggest fan haha.
Did you ever have to take classes at the campus next to the OC Fairgrounds?
Tyus Battle on that list?
/ducks
How does somebody with the name Braden Burke not play for us already?
Because he has the speed and elusiveness of Ben Braden and the mass and brawn of Trey Burke
3 kids from Virginia on that list. What's the story with that?
Marial Shayok was the only surprising name to see on that list for me. I think the other two were not major contributors.
Remember Michigan had four players transfer last year: Spike Albrecht, Aubrey Dawkins, Kam Chatman, and Ricky Doyle. It's just part of college basketball today.
In 2012 Michigan had Carlton Brundidge, Colton Christian and Evan Smotrycz all transfer as well.
Sai Tumala-Narra
That's putting it mildly. I was shayok'd to see his name.
Also, UofWashington got rid of their HC and gave all of their players their LOI release. Any of them looking at us or a good fit? Michael Porter?
Mizzou is the stated leader.
yet be have assholes like Magnus downvote it. Get the fuck over yourself dude.
Really would love a grad transfer PG that can start right away for another serious run next year. I hate the idea of not using the 13th scholarship for a 3rd year in a row. Next year's team has potential to be better than this year's team.
Could just be a guy capable of playing quality backup minutes or allow for small lineups playing alongside X and MAAR
This really depends on if Mo and/or DJ come back. If one leaves you need to go after a big man or keep Donnal. If they both come back you could use it on guy who has to sit a year or add guard depth. If they both leave it doesn't really matter, just give it to Dakich so we can keep the podcast around.
by the name of Hans Brase. Played at Princeton, by way of Germany. 6'9 senior, immediately eligible. Got hurt this year, but he's a career 34% 3 point shooter. Not terrible for a stretch big off the bench.
From Marquette, 6'6" JR SG. I say we take him just for the eyebrows.
Does anyone know if there is mutual interest here? I am not one who thinks XS is a bum by any means, but having a scoring PG who shoots 40% from 3 seems like something that would interest JB. Add in the fact that his dad is a NBA coach, and he seems right up Michigan's alley.

Anyone know why Moe didn't play the remaining 5 plus minutes at the end of the Oregon Game ? Particularly since we were out rebounded at crunch time?
