Look at the success of Fumagalli, who wasn't a big recruit at all (#75 TE). Their offense is great for tight ends, they just haven't had a big talent there. They haven't had great QBs, so shorter passes to TEs are important. They run a ton and like to go big, so TEs see the field a lot. Play action to the TE seems like a classic badger play.

we just haven't seen them sending many guys to the NFL or even being on the All Big Ten lists.  The traditional run heavy Badger offense requires their TE's to block a lot too.  That may scare some of the better prospects away.  We'll see though.  Perhaps Wiscy is moving more toward a balanced offense with more passing.

I think the Badgers have turned out some pretty decent TE"s over the last 15 years, this is what comes to mind:

Owen Daniels - Honerable Mention All Big Ten - 4th Round Pick

Travis Beckum - 1st Team Big Ten 2007 - 3rd round NFL Pick

Lance Kendricks - 1st Team Big Ten 2010, All-American 2010 - 2nd round NFL Pick

We are currently ranked #24 in FB recruiting for 2018. We have only 3 commits and are ranked a spot below MSU. Is it time to start discussing Harbaugh's job security? I think so...

How many TEs are we taking this cycle, two? And who do you think we land?

Though we have solid depth on the roster, this seems to be a great class to take a couple considering the interest level and talent available...

Jeremy Ruckert, Brevin Jordan, Leonard Taylor, Will Mallory, etc...

I think we'll take two tight ends. Asiasi's departure opens up another spot.

Out of the guys we've offered so far, I think Will Mallory, Zach Sheffer, and Mustapha Muhammad are the best bets. I think Brevin Jordan is headed to UCLA, and I don't think Michigan is going to go after Taylor that hard from here on out. I don't know if he's a TE long-term, anyway.

According to Magnus, 100% of Crystal Balls for Ruckert are to Ohio State. Of course, Michigan should still pursue him, but a lot of work needs to happen before he actually comes here.
