how does either of that make it a stupid post?

It's information that is relevant to UM football and UM football this year as many people were expecting Dorsey to come in and compete right away at a CB position. The fact that he may need to go to JUCO and has gone as far as possibly signing a letter of intent is a new development.

Finally if he actually does go to JUCO what are the chances he actually ends up at UM? Pretty slim given UM's reluctance to take JUCO players anyway and UM admissions apparent crackdown (Witty).

Edit: And I don't see anyone really freaking out, yet. It is early though. But it is a legitimate question for the board that the OP presented.

that said he needed a redshirt. And yes I did expect him to play this year. There are essentially three CB's on the roster right now. That's not quite enough especially with the potential of one of those moving to FS. And there have been several reports stating that UM expected him to come in and compete right away for the starting job.

So yes, I did.

that's fine. Whatever. You'll have to forgive me if I don't worry too much about Freshmen, on April 2nd, that have a report randomly show up on the internet that they MAY be attending a Junior College, we're not sure.

Certainly not something to go "Oh shit! My life is over!" about. But, you know, whatever. Would it be a blow? Yeah. But it's not like he's the only good player we got this year.

Plus I'm still suspect about it because of when it came out and we heard NOTHING else before this about it.

Quite possibly our best recruit has now apparently signed a LOI for A DIFFERENT COLLEGE. Playing the apathy card is quite disingenuous, considering your 9000+ points. People have a right to be sitting on the edge of their seats right now.

In my first reply, I really did think it was a joke. Evidently it was not, so I can be negged for that. Sure. Maybe I was too quick to dismiss it.

But why? Why should they be on the edge of their seats? Was Dorsey going to be the make or break between 5 and 7 wins? Is he planning to go to OSU after JC, IF HE'S EVEN GOING TO JC AT ALL?

Don't freak out. Not with the only reports being, "Something may be happening. Possibly. We're not sure." It's stupid. It's panicky, and it's pointless. Los Angeles may have exploded in a gigantic volcano 5 seconds ago. We're not sure. That would be a huge disaster. But lets wait till we get some facts before we say anything but, "Oh. I hope not."

You have your posts view long enough to get all the posts on one page...because if it pushes to page 2, they expand again. And yes, sadly, I know that.

"Certainly not something to go "Oh shit! My life is over!" "

I don't think anyone is going that route. The responses so far have been pretty calm and collected. Nowhere near the typical meltdown. But it is still early.

"Yeah. But it's not like he's the only good player we got this year."

Agreed, but he certainly was the best UM had incoming at a position of need. I did not have the same expectations for Cullen, Talbott, or Avery.

"Plus I'm still suspect about it because of when it came out and we heard NOTHING else before this about it."

That's what makes it NEWS.

I did expect Demar to be part of the two deep this year. Like me said with him going the JUCO route and Umich not being very open to JUCO kids this, to me at least is not good news and is something to at least post. If he was doing a 5th year at a prep school I would feel a little better about it. It is the whole JUCO thing that has me worried.

Additionally, how many JUCO kids does Michigan take? Wasn't Austin Panter like the 1st in 100 years or something outrageous? This is not prep school, its juco. And everyone is saying 'oh its just to take a couple classes', but I have seen nobody provide any proof of that.

No matter what, this is Drew Sharp's fault.

I think this post should be on the "stupidest post ever" list.

Do you not read ANYTHING? People with sources and inside the organization had been saying Dorsey could get on campus and win a starting job early on in the fall.

Where have you been?

was an emergency move to Safety. Reports aren't always accurate.

I read the more conservative reports on players with more belief than the more liberal ones. Especially freshmen. Eh. It's proven accurate enough for me over the years. Three summer months is a short time to learn and develop a LOT. Ideally, all freshmen would redshirt.

He could be just going there for a semester to take required courses. Either way, we will be fine. Certainly not something worth freaking out about.

Either way, what's the point in freaking out? I was just trying to post something to keep people from having an estrogen meltdown. Fort Scott C.C. is the best JUCO football program in the country.....that's the reason why it is being considered.

Many players go to JUCO before being able to attend D1 schools. He can transfer here whenever he achieves high enough scores to gain admission. Because nobody knows what his exact situation is, it makes no sense to wildly speculate. It's not like he is signing with another D1 institution here.

That in no way answers my question.

Slocum went to a prep school, which doesn't eat up your eligibility, and that's all I'm trying to figure out. Why would you got to a juco when you could go to prep school. Not that I know anything, I'm just trying to figure out the difference.
