Congrats to Bucky Badger - but this illustrates the flip side of the committee screwing someone

Hollis and his crew no doubt wanted to screw Wisconsin with a #8 seed, but as we just saw, they also screwed #1 overall Villanova with a round of 32 game against a more difficult opponent than they should have faced. Here's to them screwing Louisville the same way tomorrow.

Somehow Wisconsin and Miami ended up on the same seed line.  One just knocked off the #1 overall seed, the other looked like they belonged in the CBI last night.  Strong work, Hollis.

Wisconsin (and Michigan and Wichita St and...) were UNDER-seeded.

But how does one game prove anything? That's just a snap judgement against Miami.

They may not have deserved their seed, but one game isn't the reason. That is such a short-sided comment.

Just like beating Villanova doesn't validate Wisconsin. No, what they did all year is the reason they should've been higher.

Using your same logic, should MSU been seeded higher? Because everyone on here was bitching about them not being a team in Dayton.

The seeding is terrible because of what teams did throughout the year...not the result of the game they played in the first round.

If event with P>. 05 occurs once, shit, math illiterates deem model a failure. Seriously. I agree seeds are stupid. But. . . Do you even math bro?

That's why I had Wisconsin beating Nova. Wisconsin should of never been a 8 seed I'm happy as hell but it felt dirty cheering for them that hard

Replying to RockyTop here.

"should of" is not a phrase.

"should have". Da fuq? Who told you that"should of" is a phrase? Why did they harm you so? Did you not graduate middle school? Why???? (I'm irrationally angry about this.)

Fix yo'gramma.

The Big Ten plays a more physical brand of basketball during conference play. The Big Ten refs let it slide more than other conferences. When Big Ten teams get to the tournament, they are no longer allowed to play that physical brand of basketball.

That part of the bracket suddenly turned into a snooze fest. Virginia, Florida, Wisconsin? WOOF

Virginia vs Wisconsin would be an aesthetic nightmare. A sub-40 winning score would be in play.

Meanwhile, anyone else ready for Duke to go to the Final Four? Wisco haters, in a Duke-Wisconsin Elite Eight game, do you root against someone or just skip it and go straight to boiling yourself in acid?

I'll never give any congrats to Wisconsin basketball. They play an awful style. Plodding, slow, boring, hacking. Can't stand Wisc basketball. Plus I had Nova vs Michigan for the Championship Game.

Nice win over Nova.   Hollis should stick to managing his Athletic Department.   Seeding for Big 10 teams has been poorly thought out.

The idea that Hollis is flipping through individual B1G teams and personally choosing what bad places to put them, like Mr. Potter designating conscription designations on It's a Wonderful Life, is absurd. The whole committee works together and works from a set of rules that is necessarily very complex. Things happen the way they happen.

Now, was Wisconsin underseeded? Absolutely. Was Minnesota overseeded? The results speak for themselves. But it's not like Hollis or anyone else is just doing this to be spiteful.

Was Michigan underseeded? I hope Louisville fans are disgustedly saying so by about 2pm tomorrow afternoon.

about Hollis.  Seems like there's a certain core of M fans that are just determined to see a conspiracy against us at every hint of unfair treatment.

But no, results of one game in the tournament do not "speak for themselves". Sometimes upsets are known to happen, and between less well matched teams than Wisconsin and Villanova.  15 seed Middle Tennessee beating 2 seed Michigan State did not mean that Sparty got hosed by being matched with a grossly underseeded team.

Wisconsin is a veteran team.  Definitely not a #8 seed.  They controlled the game tempo and dominated inside, even with Happ and Koenig in foul trouble.   This was a nice middle finger to the selection committee.

Also, I'm surrounded by Badger fans who hate Gard.   So that's also a nice middle finger to Badger Nation who are clamoring for Bennett to come waltzing back to Madison.
