Great! Can come home from mass all calm and let my rage back out in less than an hour!

You win. I lose.
everyone's a winner today, sport!
You are correct, comrade. We all won yesterday!
WD beat me to posting the game time by one minute. I'm not sad - was just making a joke.

I wish it was later and not 9:10 Pacific time but we're moving on so I'll take it
but man am I nervous! I don't know if I'll be able to watch it; I think I'll check in on it every now and again. That's why I'm glad its an early game, get the anxiety out of the way and feel the afterglow of the win for the rest of the day...or not.
No choice but I will have to DVR the game. WIll be out doing my 50-miler bicycle ride at that time, but maybe I can leave my angst out on the road...

Fuck all these 9AM Pacific Time games.

Thanks! Heading to Indy tomorrow.Go Blue!

Great. If Kentucky had the early game, any fan with a job Monday would leave early to get home, especially if they lost. Now they're all going to be there and cheering against Louisville.

Is it common that the same First Round site is used for two different Regions?
I don't recall ever seeing that before, although I never really paid that much attention to it.
It really helps us in this case.
Great ticket for the fans: Michigan vs. Louisville and Kentucky vs. Wichita State . . . three of 2013's Final Four.

They changed it maybe a decade ago rather than play an entire half region in one site. Kept more schools close to home and improved attendance.

Almost typical. It used to be that they had sub-regionals, so all the teams in the Midwest bracket would play in cities in the Midwest for the first weekend as well as the second weekend. 10-15 year ago they changed that up, and now there are pods, with the top seeds generally playing close to home, regardless of what region they've been bracketed to. This keeps #2-4 seeds from having to travel too far for their early round games, which sometimes could hurt their seeding advantage.
Other guys have answered, so I'll chime in and say that this was a great move by the NCAA basketball folks, gives far more fans a chance to support their team and marginally reduces travel as well.
Do it every year, was an excellent change around a decade or so ago.
Had the pod system been in effect sooner, the Loyola Marymount game might not have happened.
That 2nd-round game matched a 3 against an 11 in an arena that was a half hour from the 11 seed's campus. Under the pod system, Michigan definitely doesn't go to Long Beach and probably is in a different 3-14/6-11 bracket (since the games would've been closer to Ann Arbor).

What is it about us and noon starts?
I guess we're used to them by this point.

Big TV draw for the exclusive window.

Super bummed as some other jerk got me excited with his claim that the game would be later Sunday. Won't be able to watch again, unfortunately. Definitely will be watching the Okie St game torrent tomorrow now. FUCK.
Welp. I'll be standing up to preach right around tip. Hopefully I'll be able to catch some of the second half.
While you are up there, put in a good word for us, OK?
A little extra help couldn't hurt.
maybe an imprecatory psalm. may i suggest psalm 59 - "...do not slay them, lest my people forget..let them be taken in their pride..."

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us".
I think this would go well with the basketball game Sunday too.
God doesn't exist, so no need to fear cosmic reprisal. Plus, your congregation won't have to listen to a sermon, so, win-win.
Great news for the Central European Time Zone.
Where are you?

Southwest Germany
Perfect for Moe Wagner's folks! I'm assuming they'll find a TV and watch the game. Hopefully he stays out of foul trouble and has a great game.
The one thing that irritates the crap out of my wife when I am watching the NCAA Tournament - especially when we're alive and in it - is that lack of predictability when it comes to game times each weekend. I think I am supposed to be somewhere, for example, tomorrow around that time, but now I will have to talk my way into being at home.
Oh well, she knows me well enough by now. I have different priorities.
just smooth talk her. I'm sending prayers though.
It'll make for a less stressful evening, at least.
Bunch of lowlife rednecks. Beat those fuckers!

Which describes most of Louisville. Used to travel down there on business and am not a fan.
ANOTHER noon game.
Well, at least I get to watch this one.
Now I have to stream or go out to watch the game.
I hope MSU plays at 3:09.
March 18th, 2017 at 10:24 AM ^
I see what you did there.
March 18th, 2017 at 10:38 AM ^
normally I would prefer a later start BUT since the illinois game weve played a bunch of noon starts so we are used to routine

From freak boy. I'm sure we would all miss the game if it weren't for these informative posts!!!! Go back to beating off into ur Jordan socks. You are awful

These. That kid is beyond annoying and I have no problem pointing that out. Maybe they will have Bobby D play him in "The Fan 2"

We owe Pitino & company for 2013 Final.
Would like to see some payback.
How on earth did you get -9,712 points?
Are you a troublemaker?
