Michigan Baseball Now Ranked 24th

Submitted by ChalmersE on

D1Baseball now ranks Michigan 24th. The team remains unranked by Baseball America. Next up is 7-4 Lipscomb in Nashville. Lipscomb has played series versus Oakland (two wins, one loss) and Auburn (one win, two losses). They have single game wins versus N'western, Bowling Green, and Middle Tennesse. They have a loss against Missouri State.

I thought this said basketball was ranked #24 now. I didn't think about how that would be virtually impossible, and so I got very excited.

Then I saw it was baseball. And then I got very unexcited.

Thanks for the emotional rollercoaster, OP...

as FauxMo.  Then my brain started doing math - 9th seed, 4 brackets, top 36... wait, no! this is baseball!

Congrats to the hardball team; good to see us ranked.  We don't normally see Midwest baseball teams that are good.  I think Indiana a few years ago made a run at the College World Series, which was an eye opener.

It's plausible that this Michigan team might be a top-32 team this season.

Just a small correction to your post:  Michigan will play Lipscomb at their home in Nashville, not in Louisville.

Would love to see our baseball program regain prominence and be a regular in the rankings!  They definitely played well in the warmer parts of the country!

GO BLUE!!

It'd be sweet if baseball games in Ann Arbor started getting hype.  Baseball is awesome live. That said, it is also the most "I-wish-I-had-a-beer-right-now" sport, which doesn't help attendance.
