Terry Foster needs another Fisking

Submitted by M-Wolverine on
His Blog headline is "Manny Harris and Michigan were bad fit", and makes up stuff like this:
Harris wanted to attend Tennessee after Amaker was fired. He liked the system there better and his instincts told him it would be a better fit. Instead some of his old coaches like Ben Flowers and Derrick McDowell and others urged Harris to stick to his commitment to attend Michigan. Their reasoning was they wanted to give Beilein a bone for the future. The word in the streets is that Beilein and Michigan did not want PSL players on the roster. They didn't fit his system and Michigan appeared to be a program trying to become the Duke of the north with players that could shoot long range jumpers and fit a system. The PSL coaches wanted to show Beilein that their players could fit in and they wanted to build a relationship with Beilein
Of course, he didn't even get the name of the the coach right (Psst...Terry, it's not "Ben"). I mean, I know he's been demoted to almost nothing, but how he even still has a job.... The link, for appropriateness: http://apps.detnews.com/apps/blogs/terryfosterblog/index.php?blogid=1902 But if you listen to the podcasts on WTKA, around the 7:30-7:45 am time slot, Sam reads the whole thing on the air. So you can just listen to it without clicking, if you want.

Truly nice work if you can get it. Play loose with the facts, make shite up. Collect paycheck. FWIW, I'd replace fisking with stronger word, but that's just me. Wins will cause all of the haters to jump back on the bus. And we will throw them right back off.

When do they become accountable? I'm sick of this garbage. Every situation is spun into "something wrong at UM". Maybe the guy just wanted to turn pro. Dah, it has happened before. I'm still not over the hockey refs. and then have to read crap from from some Bozo.

article that danny wetzel put out last week say that there was only 3 kids from the detroit area(2 from the psl and 1 from the detroit catholic league: jordan morgan) that got d-1 schollies last year??? foster loves to bring up the fact that michigan doesn't go after kids from the psl all of the time on the radio... but if the talent isn't there why would you???

Calm down. Foster wrote these kind of articles about Izzo the past few years. Saint Tom didn't have a PSL kid on the team until Derrick Nix arrived this fall and Foster routinely raked him over the coals about it. He did, didn't he?

I guess I failed at sarcasm. No, Foster has never said any of those things about Izzo. Why not? It's not like Izzo is King PSL. He has one guy on his team from the PSL this year, a true freshman. He had none the last couple of years. Where was Foster during that time? How come it's only Michigan that's avoiding the PSL?

When did sports journalism turn into writing hate pieces 100% of the time? I remember the good old days when sportswriters actually wrote stories people wanted to read about their local sports teams. It has forced everyone to resort to reading blogs dedicated to their favorite teams instead. Actually, now that I think of it, who needs these old archaic has-been sportswriters anyways.

Unfortunatey he has become just a sidekick to Valenti on the radio. If you listen to that show at all, it's painfully obvious that he doesn't really know much about sports anymore and that he clearly doesn't even watch most of the games. He has his little gig on 97.1 and he seems to like it, but even Valenti regularly calls him out on not having a clue.

The University of Detroit has 2 players from the PSL, both seniors. And no committed incoming freshman. Which means they will have no PSL players on their roster next year. I guess McCallum's "system" doesn't work for PSL kids either. Maybe he should pass on his own son and look at a PSL kid instead?

I used to listen to Valenti and Foster all the time. Eventually I realized what my friends had told me for a long time--what they say and how they say it is not rooted in journalistic integrity but rather in entertainment/shock value and ratings. Stop listening, and re: Foster's blog, stop reading.

The Saginaw Valley League should boycott Izzo! MSU only has one SVL player and he doesn't even start! Clearly Izzo is anti-SVL. For that matter... all of California should boycott Izzo, too. What does Izzo have against west coast basketball? Why won't he venture west of Milwaukee to recruit. The word on the street is Izzo isn't legally allowed west of the Mississippi due to drug trafficking charges. Come on Terry... report all the "facts"!!

A caller and Sam and Ira brought it up on the radio today. That's where I heard it. I just linked the info for fair use practice. But did mention you could just listen to the whole thing without clicking. I just thought ot was so monumentally stupid it needed, as some suggest, a fisting. As long as it's not my hand...
