Crazy result, Borussia Dortmund losing too. My Man City losing Gabriel Jesus for probably the rest of the season with a broken foot. Wild day. Typical thing to happen to City though. We have the worst luck with injuries.

Shades of 2013 when Dortmund beat Madrid 4-1 and Bayern beat Barca 7-0 on aggregate as well, both with the clinical counter-attacking high press style.

"THESE ARE DA CHAMPIONS! DA CHAMPIONS!!!"
PSG killed it today. Au revoir, Barca...

and was absolutely shocked. Of course, I'm a liverpool fan, so I have no room to talk about choking and failing horribly.

You win this round.

PSG definitely looked real formidable. That was a seriously dominant performance and I enjoyed watching it.
My Spurs struggled mightily in the Champions League; Euro play begings tomorrow. Hoping we can lock up an automatic Champions birth in league play to give it another go next season.

Also a Spurs fan, I had high hopes going into Anfield last weekend.... Damn, Spurs crumbled under the same type of high press employed by PSG vs Barca today!

Yeah, your Spurs had a little trouble in UCl, but they are a real good team. I expect them to be there next year. Hopefully City will play lights out against Monaco next week. At least Aguero is healthy and ready to pick up where Jesus left off.

Happy to see a French team make a splash (even if it's not my favorite one). For now, Allez le PSG !

Relax, guys -- we already know who is going to take it all! The same that took it last year, and the same who have taken it more than any other club! Hala Madrid!

Last year, you played us in the semi final, where we did absolutely nothing in attack and you beat us 1-0 agg on an own goal. I would love to get a rematch with you this year. City are starting to finally hit a stride. Monaco will be tough next week, but there are no real head and shoulders great teams this year. You are the favorite, but I would love that shot. One thing that Pep won't do, is park the bus, so that would be a fun game.

Monaco is a tough draw. They are scoring goals like crazy, and that's not easy to do in Ligue 1 (the refs let 'em play in that league). I would call City the underdog, quite honestly.

I agree, Monaco is playing great and they will be a challenge, but I am not sold on the French league and their top to bottom talent. I would rank that league 4th or 5th in europe, behind Germany, England, Italy and Spain. That being said, Monaco is still a tough draw, but last year, the pundits had us getting our ass handed to us by PSG, and they were proven so so wrong. With the emergence of Sane and Sterling up front, we are suddenly so much quicker in attack, Silva is back to his majestic displays of skills, and KDB is always a threat. The key for Monaco will be testing our shaky defense and City capitalizing on their chances. If City can take their chances, they could score a lot on anyone. Should be a very interesting matchup.

Ligue 1 has a lot of talent; it's just young. From age 18 to 23 or so, it's as good as any other league. But the studs mostly leave after that.

I know Aubamayeng has a history of wasting open chances in front of the net (more a reflection of just how many opportunities he get's in Dortmund's beautiful offense, considering his constant golden boot threat), but today was terribly abysmal. he looked downright distraught; hope he can shake it off. Also dont know why Durm got the start, even with the 5-4-1 formation (or 3-2-3-1 or whatever it's called). Not super confident that Dortmund will keep the clean sheet, in the second leg. Echte Liebe!

Barca sucked. Dortmund laid an egg... isnt if obvious? LEICESTER IS SO GOING TO WIN THE UCL THIS YEAR!!!!
First team ever to win the UCL... AND get relegated at the same time!
I mean if my Cubbies can win the WS, and Northwestern makes the Dance...???

Then Chicago Fire win the UCL?

Euro soccer is where it's at really. I fell in love with the sport about 10 years ago, and my saturday morning ritual is wake up and watch EPl. 2 hour games, no commercials except for halftime. US sports could learn a lot from soccer as far as delivering more of what the fans want and less wasted time. It's really hard to sit and watch a football game because of the 4 hours it takes to pla a game that should be 2 and a half to 3 hours at max.
