OT : New Orleans Area High School Coaches Planning To Ban LSU

Submitted by Eskimoan on

So it looks like New Orleans High School coaches are pretty pissed at coach O for what some might call, "dirty recruiting". He pretty much did what OSU did with Mike Weber, and waited till after signing day before making coaching changes.

Assistant coach and one of his top recruiters, Jabbar Juluke was re-assigned after signing day, making sure LSU secured those recruits

The next A-Train is John Emery. He is heading into his Junior year and recently was offered by Georgia.  Plays for Destrehan High School who puts out a lot of D-1 talent.  I would love for Michigan to pick this young man up.

Good, I'm glad to see some meaningful consequences for coaches that pull shit like this. I can't believe Meyer even gets the time of day from Detroit Area coaches after the Weber thing.

It is nice to see the the N.O. coaches are sticking up for their players and at least for now banning LSU.  wilcher during the Weber fiasco did no such thing, as read his quote very carefully, he did not say that Mike Weber was deceived or that urbz played fast and loose,

"I think Urban Meyer will have to step his game up; we're going to have to talk…He has come to my school and got the No. 1 athlete two years in a row. You cannot come over here, come up to the north, and walk out of here with your pockets full and not give us respect.  That's not gonna happen again, I call tell you that right now.  I wasn't angry, I was just concerned," Wilcher told The News.

So what does wilcher do, he and part of his staff go down to columbus and have a great time and he sends more kids there!

I can't imagine anything comes of this.  Coach O will grovel appropriately and there is no way parents will allow for something like this to stay in place for long.  Once the appropriate apologies are made everything will be back to normal.

The high school can't ban coaches from recruiting the players. But they can make it more difficult on the coach. Buddy of mine is a teacher at a high school in Texas and they have banned/suspended coaches from their campus for things they didn't like.

Orgeron is in the process of hiring a new New Orleans area recruiter. Memphis wide receivers coach David Johnson reportedly turned the job down because of the growing rift between the school and area head coaches. Johnson is an alum of St. Augustine high school in New Orleans.

That's when you know you've done something special, when coaches / recruiters who are intimately familiar with the area are turning you down like that after such an incident. Like someone said though, I don't know this stays in place long term, but way to go, Coach O.

I know of stories from back in the day at Ole Miss about him from a kid that I coached that signed w Ole Miss. I won't say his name as he was a very well known player. But there are stories of him making the kids pad up after away games when they got beat bad and had full contact drills inside the facility. Also times when he would pad up himself and go head up with the players and demean them, you wouldn't believe why so many Ole Miss players were hurt in the past when he coached there. Lot of the issues the team suffered were self made by him. He's a nut job people. He's also becoming what people in the coaches circles call "team killer" or "coach killer" everywhere he goes the team loses the head coach and then he takes the job and fires other assistants. He did it at USC and now at LSU twice! Dude is slimy

,,,that LSU's athletic department is run by a bunch of clowns.  They had an Orgeron before and they fired Gerry DiNardo.

Firing Les for Orgeron was a lateral move, at best.  He flamed out at Ole Miss and isn't even in the same class as Les Miles.  All this is doing is making it even easier for Alabama to win the SEC West.

Good to see that someone will actually implement some consequences for doing things like this. Doubt it be too big of a deal or a change, but it's good to see that the CFB world is at least very slowly moving in the right direction.

Very slowly is right. All this does is stop creepy old men from going to visit 9th graders at school and force them to visit at home and on the phone

Ok, in fairness it stops creepy *exploitative* old men from doing so
