Nick Sheridan: New Coaching job at IU

Submitted by jimmyshi03 on

Per  CoachingSearch it appears Nick Sheridan may be leaving CMU after less than a month as RB coach to take the QB coach job at Indiana under Mike DeBord, who he coached with at Tennessee. So that was fast.

Just dont finish the last book if you've loved the series.

Sanderson is a good writer, but asking anyone to tie up all the loose ends that Jordan left when he died was too much for anyone.

I wish I'd stopped reading at the last Jordan book.

However, Sanderson writes the women's parts much better than Jordan. He's a good writer.

Those poor CMU running back's just lost the opportunity to be coached by long time running back legend himself, Nick Sheridan. Will they ever mentally recover? Once-in-a-lifetime chance to be coached at the running back position by Nick Sheraton is now gone for those Chips

This is a win-win-win: Sheridan gets to coach in the B1G rather than MAC, Indiana gets a coach they're familiar with, CMU gets to find an actual RB coach.

Good for them!

Greg Frey and Shawn Watson have both left Indiana after Mike DeBord got hired last month. Watson did leave for a promotion as OC at Pittsburgh, but not a good look for DeBord. Deland McCullough (RB coach) is the only assistant left from last year's IU offensive staff.

I heard Mike Debord was a Michigan head coaching candidate in 2007 what ever happened there he'd have been better than Richard Rodriguez

Seriously? I'll bite. DeBord's record at Central Michigan: 2000 Central Michigan 2–9 2–6 MAC 2001 Central Michigan 3–8 2–6 MAC 2002 Central Michigan 4–8 2–6 MAC 2003 Central Michigan 3–9 1–7 MAC Lots of coaches have won at Central. DeBord couldn't cut it in Springfield, so Capital City was out of the question. Could he have done better than 3-9 in '08? Probably. But, he would've been a lousy choice.

Springfield is the capital though (of Illinois) so I'm not sure what you're going on about there. But I guess you're right I didn't know he failed that bad at Central Michigan. Although Gary Moeller failed at Illinois so I don't know what to believe anymore

I hope the pay is good. No one is better at making QBs look bad than Mike DeBord, which can't really help the job security and prospects of the QB coach.

Yeesh.  I'm not in the coaching game but hitching your wagon to DeBord's coattails doesn't seem like a great long term move.  I've been known to be wrong though.
