Personally, I wouldn't mind that, if it means the site doesn't crash every time there is a commitment.

Combined with the fact that Brian wasn't seeing a dime from those views, if half of them never view the site again, and the other half view it on a revenue generating platform, it would be a net positive for him.

I can completely appreciate where Brian is coming from on this, but I think even he would admit that it probably wasn't handled in the best possible way. In situations like this communication is the key. I, for one, had NO IDEA the HD app was not supported by MGoBlog. I always wondered why the 'old shitty app' was still an option in ITunes. I used the HD app enough that I would gladly pay a monthly fee to have it. Disappointing that this wasn't handled better. I think if the situation was explained and the users were given options that pay for the content through the HD app, most people would have gladly stepped up and paid to use it. Too bad. Hopefully something can be worked out because the other 'real app' hurts my eyes. Oh well, 1st world problems. GO BLUE!!!

I have to say, I liked the HD version better. Had far more options to customize how you could view the site. Like seeing the message board first vs. seeing the selection screen. It also had better link options within posts, and images/posts were easier to read and interact with.

My hope is that this will not prevent otherwise barred users from posting exclusively on the app.  I love the "Garfield Minus Garfield" effect of the unbarred users' responses to the barred users.

The 'official' app's design is awful.  I will miss HD.  Feel like I'm using the web back in the 1990's with the 'official' app.  Can it be made more visually appealing?

I would use it if it wouldn't crash every time I tried. Seriously, just re-downloaded it because the HD app is gone and it crashes before anything can load.

the only app that was actualy funtional is no more?

WTF?

No offense to the original developers, but I had been using the old Mgo app since day 1, until it got so awful I just stopped a while ago.

The HD app worked SO much better I started MGo-ing on my phone again for the 1st time in months.

Oops, sorry, gave a shit & started concern-trolling again, my bad.

I'd be happy to use the "blessed" app -- if it worked.  Every time I try to view something, it crashes.

Yes I am using the latest version.

I understand the need to support your ad model, but if the app don't work... hard to consume!

I have to concur with the general sentiment that the HD version was 100 times better than the original version. In fact, I just downloaded the regular version and it's crashed twice on me in 5 minutes.

The "classic" app is barely functional on iPhone.  At least now it will work some of the time, which is an improvement over the past month or so when it showed nothing at all (other than the ad at the bottom of the page ldo)

(Raises hand, points to self)

Another person who:

  • Vastly prefers the look and feel of the HD app
  • Just re-downloaded and tried to use the official app for the first time in a long time and it crashed

I'm sensitive to the stated reasons.  I'd gladly chip in another $10 of beveled guilt for right to use the HD app.

Thanks, Brian
