Will always remember his quote from V for Vendetta:
I want EVERYONE to REMEMBER. WHY. THEY. NEED. US.
Great actor. RIP.

Sad news...loved this guy. Great in Contact and epic Alien scene...tons of movies he rocked
January 27th, 2017 at 9:11 PM ^
Why build one when you can have two at twice the price?
January 27th, 2017 at 9:16 PM ^
He is better in Spaceballs.
January 27th, 2017 at 9:12 PM ^
Elephant Man. Rocked it.
January 27th, 2017 at 11:29 PM ^
Agree he was good as John Merrick in The Elephant Man. So good, in fact, that many scenes were difficult to watch because of the treatment he received from his fellow man.
January 28th, 2017 at 6:43 AM ^
One short line from The Elephant Man, spoken so plaintively, is among the most poignant of all time:
"I am a Man."
Wonderful actor, gone too soon.

Snowpiercer was one of the worst movies of all time.

I liked it
January 27th, 2017 at 9:17 PM ^
You know, I heard from so many people that it is so good. I finally watched it a couple of years ago and was fairly bored. The most interesting part was when they were walking through the different train cars. Not a good movie.
January 27th, 2017 at 9:18 PM ^
Agree. Not very good.

It is wildly overrated

But I wont take part in some battle over movie opinions. No one ever wins.

So what, even if it was, this thread is to honor a great actor. Why the need to be so crass?
January 27th, 2017 at 9:28 PM ^
Little known fact: he was the first actor to portray Aragorn son of Arathorn.
January 27th, 2017 at 9:29 PM ^
Damn; he was a good one.

OMG. I almost never react to shock scenes in movies; but that death scene from Alien literally had me cringing and jumping out of my seat. He was an incredibly versatile actor, bridging all genres of film.

He was outstanding as the War Doctor in the 50th anniversary show. He had the ability to take any role and make it his own.

He was great in 1984. Owning Mahoney was an underrated classic.

I'd forgotten what a good movie this was until I saw it again just a couple of weeks ago. Hurt was perfect as the slimy Scottish nobelman.
Plus, it's got one of the greatest "Fuck You" endings in movie history.

and one of the more underrated films of all time
