It's a good read. Hope that when his basketball days are over, he'll still have the discipline he has today. I will definitely root for the kid...

On a related note, what happened to Derrick Nix?

with the cool Estes rocket collection and the almost-hot (hot enough anyway) big sister.  He's impossible to hate, pretty mellow, from a nice family, and you'll protect him if he gets picked on. So yeah, no problem rooting for this kid at all.

Yes because we all clap and say 'good show young man' when an opponent makes a good play and we lose.  It's sports dude, its all about hating the other team, especially the ones you play a lot.  It's not real hate, it's not tweeting and stalking and yelling at in person hate.  C'mon now.  Lighten up.

Sparty is sitting at 12-9 with 2-3 okay-good wins over Minnesota x2 and Northwestern. There are 10 games left, 5 of which are @Michigan, @Nebraska, @Maryland, @Purdue and home with Wisconsin. They almost HAVE to win at least 3 of those along with winning all of their other games to get in the Tourney it would seem. A B1G Tourney run would also help of course, but man, it's got to be a bit hairy on that bubble for those asshats.

Right. And how ridiculous is that. The potential they have that is truly carrying them is asinine. I don't have much faith beating them either time in the coming week and a half but beating us makes not a true tournament team; where the opposite would be true for us I feel.

And as I'm sitting here typing this, I feel like an 18-13 Sparty team (19-14 or 20-14 after B1G Tourney) would for sure be in the NCAA Tourney because of brand, even though getting to that record would have few good-great wins, if any.

I have no problems with Purdue and I have been watching Spike ball out lately.  We could use that leadership quality that he brought to the team.  Like Bielfeldt, it was a huge mistake to let these two go somewhere else for their 5th year.  Haas and Swanigan are really good guys too.  It's hard to hate on this team.
