Rumors rumbling that Tom Gores might buy the Tigers

Saddest part of driving down Michigan Ave. is seeing the old bars shuttered or empty, while there's a thriving district about a mile down the road. I hope the Tiger Stadium site can be redeveloped into something to help pump some life into those bars on a consistent basis.

Nope. They're putting in an astroturf field for the PAL. And some condos or something too.

Unfortunately no. This new District Detroit isn't going anywhere at this point. They are going to want to have all of the teams right next to each other.

"Our own Frank Beckmann." Uhhh...what's the supposed to mean? He doesn't work for Michigan anymore and even if he did, I never shared a tribe with that racist piece of shit. Fuck you for listening to that garbage and fuck you twice for posting it like it's a legit news source.

Is that you Jeff Moss? Do you like Michigan football? Did you listen to the radio broadcast in the last 40 years? If the answer to both is yes...you shared a tribe.
However, my suspicion is you probably fit in comfortably here: http://michiganstate.247sports.com/Board/93/Contents/Frank-Beckman-is-a…

You feckless scumbag. You poor imbecile. You're happy to be part of a tribe based on FOOTBALL and ignore the noxious forces dominating your mind. It's embarrassing to share a species with your kind.

the only issues I ever had with Illitch were the early years where it was clear the Tigers were 2nd fiddle to the Wings and the family really had no idea how to run a baseball organization. They made some really poor hires and bad personel decisions, it took the Tigers becoming the laughing stock of MLB for the Illitch's to finally make the changes that have brought about a pretty damn good run from 2006.
For a franchise like Detroit to basically have the best pitcher and best hitter of their generation for 10 years is pretty remarkable. I only wish they could have won a World Series or two, but the baseball playoffs aren't like they used to be.

I don't believe this at all. Illitch's only goal among both of his teams is get a World Series before he dies. It's so clear in the way he has committed to the Tigers over the years. Sometimes I'm afraid he'll have a heart attack when his talented players he paid a ton of money to sign underperform ONCE AGAIN.
