Who was the most surprising commit?

I want you to eat poop

There are professionals who can help you conquer coprophagia.
January 16th, 2017 at 3:53 AM ^
the grunting that he enjoys, along with the feeling of being "full if it".
January 16th, 2017 at 12:36 PM ^
Given the tenor of the posts so far, I don't think poop guy will last very long.
January 16th, 2017 at 12:46 PM ^
John McAfee might be able to put you in touch with some people.
January 16th, 2017 at 1:38 AM ^
Has to be Roy Roundtree.
January 16th, 2017 at 1:43 AM ^
Are we talking surprise commits who stayed committed, or do surprise commits who subsequently decommitted count?

I say they count because u obviously have someone in mind and I probably forgot about them

Honestly, it was an attempt at a subtle joke, given the preceding "worst decommitment" thread. But I did have either Pearlie Graves or DaQuinta (D.T.) Jones in mind, given one or both of them had never set foot on campus at the time of their commitment(s). Perhaps no surprise that both decommitted (and are mentioned in the decommitment thread).

donavan warren
January 16th, 2017 at 4:35 AM ^
To quote MGoBlog purely from my memory, "Donovan Warren...uhh...come on down?".
It was a little bit into the era when it became admirable that some random poster started texting 17 year olds and it wasn't an arrestable offense so it was definitely a suprise because people were on top of it...
Other than Donovan Warren, Marlo Stansfield was a good get. His name was his name, after all
January 16th, 2017 at 9:20 AM ^
thought as well
January 16th, 2017 at 1:51 AM ^
Jim Harbaugh.
January 16th, 2017 at 9:11 AM ^
I was more surprised by how many "experts" in the media did not understand the fit.

Eubanks
January 16th, 2017 at 2:02 AM ^
How's he coming along? Big time talent.
January 16th, 2017 at 2:05 AM ^
High boom, high bust type player. I remember he was supposed to be extremely raw and with the talent on the roster, it may be a while until we see him on the field.

I'll just say his attitude could use a little work.

Always appreciate the insights you provide. Thanks GM.

McKeon and his development over the season are the main reasons why they aren't going hard after a TE.

Kobe was the greatest kicker in Michigan history.

Donovan Warren was a five-star recruit we were able to pluck out of USC's backyard during the Pete Carroll days when every elite prospect on the West Coast was a presumptive USC lean. He was the biggest pleasant surprise in my years of following recruiting.
January 16th, 2017 at 2:22 AM ^
There hasn't been a hat selection where I'm surprised positively. I'd say Eubanks

Mitch McGary

Demar Dorsey was pretty shocking at the time IIRC.
January 16th, 2017 at 2:39 AM ^
and it's not close. Michigan people weren't even tracking his announcement because he was supposedly down to Georgia and one other school that wasn't Michigan. SEC fans had to come on the Rivals board to tell Michigan fans he'd even committed.
January 16th, 2017 at 4:36 AM ^
I would probably agree with this.
January 16th, 2017 at 3:03 AM ^
I'd say plucking Kyle Kalis away from OSU or maybe even Ben Bredeson from Wisky. Unfortunately Kalis didn't turn out.

While Kalis won't go down as one of Michigan's all-time greats, but I wouldn't describe a 4 year starter and a
Honorable mention All-B1G (2015) and 2nd team All-B1G (2016) as "didn't turn out." Michigan got more than their money's worth out of Kalis. May not have been the greatest, but he was more than serviceable.
January 16th, 2017 at 6:16 AM ^
Well, you're right, but so is he, in a sense. Kalis was supposed to be ready from day 1. I kind of feel his All B1G seems more like a lifetime achievement award. I have never seen an OL have so many spectacular whiffs.

Kid started the majority of his redshirt freshman season. That's about as close to a "Day 1 starter," you're going to get out of offensive line recruits. True freshmen playing isn't the norm and its certainly not ideal.
January 16th, 2017 at 8:52 AM ^
Serviceable is actually a very good way to describe him.
January 16th, 2017 at 3:40 PM ^
tends to be taken with a grain of salt because it's always based on reputation than anything.
For Kalis case, it's a case of lack of good OL in B1G. Kalis was meh at best this season but when he had to face a good DT, he can't block him to save his life. Jaleel Johnson and Demarcus Walker comes into mind.
January 16th, 2017 at 8:32 AM ^
I expected Bredeeson after his brother came for baseball. That plus Harbaugh and it wasn't like Chryst and staff had some deep relationship with him.

Agreed. There was literally no smoke. A lot of people are saying Eubanks but at least Sam said like the day before he visited that we could flip him. Asiasi we moved late on but he didn't have a clear leader and we killed his visit. Solomon was so far out of the blue.

He was always on my wish list and was on our radar for a long time. Those hopes were fading, but when he scheduled the late visit I figured we had a very good chance.
January 16th, 2017 at 5:57 AM ^
Harbaugh's not done yet. (I'm thinking it's gonna be Solomon)
January 16th, 2017 at 6:12 AM ^
Tore up his knee so many times, even Robbie Hummel felt sorry for him. Never could work a redshirt out of it, if my memory serves me well. I also think there was a thread here or somewhere else on who in Michigan's basketball would be the perfect Beilein 4. Aside from Glen Rice, Ward gets my vote.

She had her fun and ya know, like we all do and sometimes the lamestream medias picks up on it, but we're gonna make America great again right here in Wasilla and maybe she'll even have Glen up for a little celebratory sexy time when we do.
