Stars aren't meaningless, but, yeah, it's nice to see that Michigan has had some players outperform their rankings. It's early, but Metellus appears to be one of those. Chris Evans, too.

Your post is a pleasant contrast to the person who said yesterday that OSU is *crushing* Michigan in recruiting. Crushing.

OSU just goes for the five stars because it's sexxy for their ranking. Look how them five stars did for them this year from past recruiting classes. If they wouldn't have been so highly overranked and Oklahoma wouldn't have shit the bed, things would've been different. Urban and staff manipulate them young men into going to that shithole.

It's silly to think that out of all the high school players going to college each year, that twenty-five of the five stars are the only talented and good athletes of the whole group. Just not true. A lot of these kids live in the right place at the right time and also had mommy and daddy make everything perfect for them to achileve that star ranking. Some great athletes that have no exposure and have a much tougher road might never get the chance to play in division one. Yet, these kids are the ones with the real talent/athletic ability and work ethic that it takes to become a true blue collar football player. These kids don't get exposure for a reason. If they did, that would take away the spotlight from all of the spoon fed little cubs of the world.

It's great to see stuff like this and Vincent Smith's project today. Good to see that they have left Michigan, but the Michigan hasn't left them and they are working hard to pursue excellence in their respective fields.

For all the NFL Analysts who don't know the true definition of a "Michigan Man" (This was shown during Caoching Fiasco 2015), this is what we are referring to. It's all about the heart, will, and values that a man has. It doesn't matter where you are from (The original one came from Ohio of all places), but it's about the mindset.

This is the exact reason why, no matter what happens to our beloved team on the field during the football season, I will never stop thinking that it truly is "Great to be a Michigan Wolverine".

More like a gal named Serendipidty.  As a reminder, JMFR was a late bloomer, so late that everybody that was anybody had already taken a pass on him.  There it is, days before NSD 2010, RR needs a LB and JMFR needs a home.  Of course he rode the bench that year and didn't actually play any football for Michigan until RR was gone.

As an aside.  Ever notice how the star players for Hoke were happy accidents or other people's players, while player busts were soley his responsibility?

As far as Hoke is concerned, look around the field. Where do you clearly see more hits than misses (or partial misses)? He's often praised for the defensive line recruiting and I think that's fair. The secondary also seems to have worked out well. Tight End, too. All other areas are a mixed bag (e.g., wide receiver) or a semi-disaster (offensive line). RichRod? He had some unique challenges ("LLOYD CARR'S UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN!"), but other than offensive line (interesting contrast to Hoke) and slot receiver I can't think of an area where he hit more than missed. It's obviously too early to declare any Harbaugh recruits misses (at least based on playing ability) and I see a couple of hits (Metellus and Evans, as noted earlier, and McDoom). Aside: Asiasi looks great, too, but he was a highly regarded recruit and an expected "hit."

Happy to see he is making himself right at home in Green Bay. He had a great career at Michigan, and I hope he has an even better one in the NFL.

He's definitely making his way toward that long term, second contract.

Love Jake Ryan but who the hell do we want to win next week. Man I almost find myself wanting G.B. to win. I will just call it like this Jake vs. that bag of shit from osu!!!!!.  Go Blue and I guess the John Deere guys.

Reminder: this guy wasn't good enough in Hoke's eyes to offer him a scholarship at San Diego State.

Jake Ryan is just a talented Football player with great defensive Football instincts.  You could see it when he was a freshman playing for Rich Rod's D (!).  Even after the ACL, the guy came back strong.  Not surprising that he is becoming a very good NFL LB.
