All 11 early enrollees are enrolled
Very happy to report that all 11 early enrollees are in.
Donovan Peoples-Jones and Ambry Thomas were the last two to come in on the directory earlier this evening.
There was talk of MSU continuing to recruit Ambry Thomas all the way up to the Army game. Full court press.
Alas, they lose again. The directory says he's official.

Thomas thought about going to MSU at the Army game, for about 3-9 seconds.
January 9th, 2017 at 12:14 AM ^
He may have even had 3-9 total thoughts about it.
WD: Thanks for the directory vigilance.

January 9th, 2017 at 1:03 AM ^
Yes WD, What about Paea?
January 9th, 2017 at 4:53 AM ^
Good catch. He's a body at a thin position.
January 9th, 2017 at 9:59 AM ^
I could be wrong, but I don't think Paea is enrolling early. He talked about it early on, but I don't think it's happening.
January 9th, 2017 at 2:38 PM ^
Too bad. We are a little thin along the D line and his presence early on campus could have Paead dividends...
January 9th, 2017 at 10:50 AM ^
Not currently enrolled.
January 9th, 2017 at 11:06 AM ^
He's not an EE.
January 9th, 2017 at 12:03 PM ^
Darn....speculation for a bit was that he'd be an early enrollee.
January 9th, 2017 at 12:10 AM ^
It's funny but I wait for this post every year.
January 9th, 2017 at 12:13 AM ^
Ja'Raymond Hall the most likely Freshman OT to play in 2017?
January 9th, 2017 at 12:33 AM ^
Filiaga
January 9th, 2017 at 6:20 AM ^
What about Ruiz?
January 9th, 2017 at 6:53 AM ^
Ruiz isn't an OT
January 9th, 2017 at 10:11 AM ^
The fact he's an EE makes me think we might see him early and often somewhere inside
January 9th, 2017 at 10:45 AM ^
I think Ruiz ends up starting at guard this year. If he has to play center that means Cole had to move out to tackle and I certainly don't think that would represent the best case scenario.
January 9th, 2017 at 11:09 AM ^
True. You could have Ruiz be shoulder to shoulder with Cole learning line calls and then during garbage time sliding over to center.
January 9th, 2017 at 7:29 AM ^
Steuber is in the conversation as well.
January 9th, 2017 at 8:10 AM ^
Actually probably the least likely to play at OT. He might be a RT down the road but I see him ending up at guard.
Ideally, 3 years from now, our tackles from this class are Steuber (L) and Filiaga (R). Filiaga is the most college-ready of the bunch, but Steuber is going to be really good.
January 9th, 2017 at 10:09 AM ^
How do we know he's going to be really good?
January 9th, 2017 at 10:30 AM ^
Time machine, clearly.
January 9th, 2017 at 11:21 AM ^
He's incredibly athletic at 6'7" 290. He's underrated because of his competition in CT, but a few years of coaching under Drev and I think he will be a 1st round pick.

MSU had a few guys commit at the Army All-American Game. Ha!
January 9th, 2017 at 1:09 AM ^
How many committed? somewhere between 3-9?
January 9th, 2017 at 12:26 AM ^
from California that was committed to Alabama?
January 9th, 2017 at 12:31 AM ^
Never heard anything about that.
January 9th, 2017 at 12:37 AM ^
Whoever he is, he isn't a Wolverine but these guys are and I see the whole slew of 'em making an impact rather quickly in Ann Arbor.
January 9th, 2017 at 8:05 AM ^
He has short legs at just 3'9
January 9th, 2017 at 12:32 AM ^
that WD was the author. :) Thanks for keeping watch sir!
January 9th, 2017 at 12:47 AM ^
WRs are going to be so athletic next year, it is unbelievable. Big TEs and lightning WRs is the best combination for our new passing coordinator. Can't wait.
January 9th, 2017 at 1:09 AM ^
Thanks for the info as always, WD! Good confirmation news to have and know!
January 9th, 2017 at 1:09 AM ^
Serious question, Are we in on any other uncommitted RB's?
January 9th, 2017 at 4:34 AM ^
Probably not. Running back isn't a position of need. We really only recruited Harris because he's the #1 prospect and he was highly interested. Regardless it's of positional need, you never turn down elite talent. Even without Harris we still have 7 scholarship running backs. If Drake Johnson gets a 6th year, he would be 8. Of those, 5 are going to be freshmen and sophomores. Higdon is going to be a Junior and Isaac will be a 5th year.
So essentially it's a position that can definitely wait until next year
January 9th, 2017 at 10:02 AM ^
Sort of...but we did recruit 3 running backs BEFORE Najee Harris. We had Dillon, Taylor, and Samuels, and we were trying to get Harris, too. Now we have just two (Samuels, Taylor). It makes one wonder why we had 3 running backs to start and were going for a 4th, if we only needed 2.
Unless, of course, the staff was planning to get rid of someone and now they don't have the luxury of doing so...
January 9th, 2017 at 10:09 AM ^
To your knowledge (and I'm sorry, because I'm sure you've answered this plenty already), are we still strong with Samuels?
January 9th, 2017 at 10:12 AM ^
I think we're on shaky ground with Samuels, but Harris to Alabama helps. I think he was gone for sure if Harris picked Michigan. Samuels also has some academic issues to work out, so that puts him on iffy ground by itself.
January 9th, 2017 at 10:22 AM ^
Was the shakey ground caused by his perception that if Harris joined the class then he'd be burried in the depth chart, or was he miffed that the staff was focused so intently on adding (then) a 4th RB?
In other words, does the Harris departure aleviate the issue, or is he possibly bitter?
January 9th, 2017 at 10:36 AM ^
I think the Harris "departure" alleviates the issue, but I do get the sense that Samuels was (and probably stll is) a little bitter that Michigan thought they needed to recruit over him.
Personally, I like Samuels. He's got that kick and that extra gear that make me think he could be a big-play guy. He reminds me of Ty Johnson at Maryland a little bit.
January 9th, 2017 at 8:15 AM ^
No. Next target at RB is TJ Pledger, next year. He's a smaller (5'9) home run hitter from IMG.
January 9th, 2017 at 1:20 AM ^
WD, thoughts on flipping Najee Harris between now and when he "MUST" be enrolled in Bama classes 1/14?
Asking for a friend....
January 9th, 2017 at 1:33 AM ^
Man, this crowd can be cruel..... unless Im missing the Titanic sinking, doesnt WD get a lifetime pass in his Harbaugh to Michigan email role??
January 9th, 2017 at 2:31 AM ^
What role? He did nothing purposefully.
January 9th, 2017 at 8:22 AM ^
doing nothing purposefully doesn't excuse him in having a role...

I think it ws the Dave Brandon to Toys 'R' Us email you are recalling!
(Unless of course you are making the direct commection to JH from that event!?)
January 9th, 2017 at 6:22 AM ^
....good point, but have you checked out all the flights between Birmingham and DTW yet???
January 9th, 2017 at 1:31 AM ^
Other guy here? Yup, he's here. Looks like we're all here. Now someone make a move.
