2010 Name of the Year Bracket

Submitted by Wes Mantooth on

I didn't see anything already posted, but the 2010 Name of the Year bracket is out. And it's awesome.

The number one overall seed has got to be a shoe-in to win. Nohjay Nimpson.

Also, I'm proud to say I made a post on this very site claiming God's Power Offor as the best name ever...and he also made the bracket as a 1-seed. Along with Wave Ryder.

My favorite so far is X'Zavier Bloodsaw. Is anyone going to run a Bracket Challenge for this? I'd have X'Zavier versus Dick Smallberries JR and Aristotle Socrates versus Flavious Killebrew in the final four.

I don't know... Spontaneous Gordon has a certain ring to it. I like the ones where there's a normal last name made magnificent by the first name.

Iowa LB Pat Angerer is present, BTW. I didn't think Angerer was that uncommon of a surname to warrant inclusion.

I like to tell myself that some of these parents didn't realize what they did until much after the fact. Like Rich Tanguy. I picture someone making a joke about their son being a rich and tan guy and each of them slapping their foreheads in unison.

Also, Nohjay Nimpson- born in 1989. I'm curious how her parents reacted on June 12, 1994...

It might be a real name. She is a member of the Sioux, and they sometimes have last names along those lines. A couple of years ago there was a DL recruit (also of Sioux background, I believe) named Evan Points At Him:

Banana Yaya and Starzanne Stipes are harder for me to believe.

Some friends and I filled one out. Our final four was Stalin Felipe, Dick Smalberries Jr., Pamela Balls Organista, and Just-in'love Smith. Stalin Felipe took down the cinderella Pamela Balls Organista in the finals, which pitted a dude from Harlem who was arrested for rape against a U San Fran psychology professor.

In my opinion, Dr. Nutz is seeded far too low at 10. He should be a 3 or 4 at worst.

Also, gotta love the oxymoronic name of King Jamell Modest. Actually, I don't know. I guess a king could be modest.

Finally, Can Du.

Do they have a porn region? (Since he's not in the Chrotchtangle, I guess that doesn't count).

Pepi Hamburger? Someone was a big Belushi fan...

Man, that Dragonwagon region is stacked...

Selathious Bobo...have Sith Lord, half Clown. Pamela Balls Organista...another Star Wars reference, I think. And Can Du. I wonder if his brother's name is Will.
