That's not true.

We lost Tom Strobel and Keith Heitzman to Ohio U. and both played some at Michigan and were headed for a bigger role.

Gehrig Dieter was all everything at BGSU and left for Bama to be the 4th passing option.

There are example of guys just wanting more PT. You're not likely going to lose a starter, but to say if someone is good he won't leave isn't true. Russell Wilson is the most obvious answer.

Malik Zaire is transferring from ND and he'd likely start next year with Kizer headed to the NFL.

Those areas concern me, too.

I realize Hamilton's flip to Stanford last year may have been unexpected, but I was still a little surprised that they only had four (pre-decommit) OL in the class. Why not load up that year instead of this year? It could be that they weren't satisfied with what was available to them and decided to go all out in '17.

As for the interior D line, I think it would be reasonable to put Gary there (DT). Still, given that they got nothing in '15 (which was understandable), why not recruit it harder for '16?

The DL doesn't concern me as much, becasue what you don't see on that image is a bunch of DE types listed in the next section down that they've recruited the last two years.  So slide some of those guys inside, and you're probably OK.

But the OL?  That's really bad.  And like you said, it makes some of the decisions made recruiting last year real questionable.  Even if you have to take a guy lower on your board, you do it because you flat out need bodies there more than anything.

That requires those DEs to be competent enough to take on tackles from OSU, Wisconsin, etc.

If Gary moves inside, Mone/Dwumfour at NT with Hurst and Gary playing more of the 3?  That could very well be a pretty good rotation in the interior of the DL.

Then at DE you're hoping for two of Winovich, Kemp, Vilain, Johnson, Hudson, Jeter, Jones, and Marshall.

Could happen, but I like Gary better on the outside.

As for the OL, I don't think I'd go so far as to say they''re "really bad."  But there are definite question marks.

When I say it doesn't concern me as much, let me clarify by saying it still concerns me. Just not quiet to the WTF level of concern I have going on with the OL.

Also, I didn't say the OL was going to be really bad, I said the situation, specifically the depth there, is really bad.

Like say Cole or Onwneu gets banged up and has to miss a few games. They're fucked.

He gave 4 years to Michigan and Michigan Football, he bleeds blue, got his diploma and by all accounts was a class act. He hasn't signed to play anywhere else. He's one of our own and he'll always be one of us.

Don't tell me he's not one of us and then get mad when someone doesn't say "Michigan" on Monday Night Football. David Dawson is 100% Michigan Wolverines.

Eh. I'm not one of those people that complains about that. Not sure where that even come from to be honest. But you seem to be rather argumentative so it's probably rooted there.

My comment was more snark than anything. I think you know that. Since it was a reply to your comment I suppose I'm not surprised you jumped up on your soap box. Obviously he will always be a Michigan man.

And this is why I quit following recruiting several years ago. I remember this kid as a "OMG, MUST GET OR WE ALL DIE!!!!" recruit a few years back.

And he's leaving, on good terms...why are people being rude or making fun of him? Or even pointing out how big/little of an impact he made?

He's gone, just wish him well and move on.

I've seen a lot of these threads. Never have I seen one like this, this is unusual. Did Dawson do something that I missed?

Chris Balas has been saying it quite often in his shows lately. I agree that Wheatley Jr. could be a damn good tackle. Could move and handle the good defenesive ends in the conference. He's already like 280 lbs.
