B1G Bowl Matchups
Not sure what kind of record the conference is staring down in bowls this season. Some of these matchups look not so favorable, especially for those early in bowl season. Looking at it, first thought is 4-6, with wins by UM, Wisconsin, Iowa and Maryland. OSU a toss up. But a couple of those games could get ugly.
Fiesta (CFP): OSU v. Clemson
Rose: PSU v. USC
Orange: UM v. FSU
Cotton: Wisconsin v. Western Michigan
Outback: Iowa v. Florida (Is a war crime)
Music City: Nebraska v. Tennessee
Holiday: Minnesota v. Wazzu
Pinstripe: N'western v. Pitt
Foster Farms: IU v. Utah
Quicklane: Maryland v. BC (a slightly less awful war crime)
Failure pile in a sadness Bowl: MIchigan State

I will be salty about Ped fucking State in the Rose Bowl for a long while.
December 4th, 2016 at 4:20 PM ^
You will be saltier when they win. Best to prepare emotionally for that now
December 5th, 2016 at 9:53 AM ^
Penn State into the Rose Bowl turf and it won't even be funny.
December 4th, 2016 at 4:20 PM ^
like a rented mule. i'm guessing a score like what we did to them, 49-10.
December 4th, 2016 at 4:28 PM ^
Have you watched them play recently? They look much improved to me.
December 4th, 2016 at 4:31 PM ^
McSorley chucking the ball up for grabs is not sustainable against a team in SC that has way more athletes than Wisconsin ever will. Plus it's a defacto home game for them.
I think that SC will win, 31-16 with a kick return for a TD by Jackson.
December 4th, 2016 at 5:02 PM ^
Manziel used to do the same thing (throw it up for grabs) - all the time. I said the same thing about McSorely, but he keeps on doing it. It is maddening to watch but it works? He did it vs Purdue, MSU, OSU and WI.
December 4th, 2016 at 6:03 PM ^
Maybe it's because he has wide receivers who know how to high point a ball and make a play for him, unlike another team we are all fond of.
December 4th, 2016 at 6:12 PM ^
was killing me. their secondary was garbage.
December 4th, 2016 at 4:41 PM ^
He's going to cover half the field himself. And JuJu and their offense will have a field day against that defense. By the third quarter, you're going to hear the same excuses that were used back in September about how PSU is still in rebuilding mode.
December 4th, 2016 at 8:34 PM ^
I don't know. Adoree Jackson is an awesome athlete, but a lot of people have questioned his coverage skills.
December 4th, 2016 at 5:11 PM ^
One could say the exact same thing about USC.
December 4th, 2016 at 6:09 PM ^
They beat Notre Dame by 18. The poster I was replying to said USC could beat PSU by 39. Cumong man, PSU is not that bad. Unlike ND, they actually win games.
December 4th, 2016 at 8:37 PM ^
They beat ND by 18. So? ND is actually 34th in S&P, not great by any means, but much better than their record indicates. And 18 is quite decisive.
December 5th, 2016 at 9:50 AM ^
Even Sparty beat ND this year....I mean who HASN'T beat ND this year?
December 4th, 2016 at 8:44 PM ^
to USC, they have improved as much or more as i'm guessing you perceive psu has improved. and thinking that psu has gotten better does pass the eye test, it's just that USC has done more.
December 4th, 2016 at 4:24 PM ^
You, I dont care about so much (just a little).
I really hope our whole football team is salty about that too, and takes it out on FSU. Would love a repeat of last year where the Fla. opponent throws in the towel early in 3d quarter.

Letting me know that you don't care about me was just flat out unnecessary :(

USC will have a home field advantage and the refs will give them at least 14 points. Michigan has seen enough biased crews and played enough 11-on-18 ball this season. Let PSU be the foil for the "Rebirth of Mighty USC."
December 4th, 2016 at 4:44 PM ^
That's one long and boring commercial.

I agree except for Nebraska. That's a pretty bad football team....even when compared to Tennessee (playing in Tennessee).

I don't have any special reaction to these match-ups, I just wanted to write "blame Delany".
December 4th, 2016 at 5:12 PM ^
Someone on this board likes Delany?
December 4th, 2016 at 4:23 PM ^
USC is probably playing better than everyone except Bama right now. I would rather not see them in bowl game. Plus Don Brown faced FSU last season so I am hoping he has something special in store for them.
December 4th, 2016 at 4:30 PM ^
If UM shuts down their run (which I think will happen, lots of DL wanting to go pro/Don Brown knowing their scheme), I think it could get out of hand fast in favor of the good guys. Their QB sucks and he will have lock down corners on his WRs.
FSU is kind of like the ACC equivlent of PSU, which UM matches up well against.
***Being from near Kzoo, I feel bad for Western. Walking into a buzzsaw. UW will be MAD as hell they gave up their lead to PSU and their defense is no joke. TJ Watt Alert.

Row the Boat goes 3-0 vs B1G West
December 4th, 2016 at 4:38 PM ^
Wisky is going to blast WMU.
WMU's run defense is horrible and they have not played a defense like Wisconsin's. It is going to get ugly.

a guy can hope...
:/

Is like a grown man fighting a child. Regardless of the ending, it's a no-win situation for the grown man.
December 4th, 2016 at 5:16 PM ^
The only bigger mismatch is IU-Utah.
December 4th, 2016 at 8:41 PM ^
Maybe. But those games tend to have letdowns from the Power 5 team. I guess Wisconsin is happy to be where they are, but still, they lost the championship game and may be difficult to get up for a game against Western.
Also, all of these B1G matchups are pretty sweet! Go Clemson!
December 4th, 2016 at 4:27 PM ^
Smash Wisky!
December 4th, 2016 at 4:58 PM ^
Interesting matchup since Wiscy has awful DBs. But I think Wisconsin will expose them. BJ better take an offer b4 that game.

Western has a chance against Wisky. I do feel like the B1G has some bad matchups and will win less than half of their bowls. As long as Michigan wins, I really don't care about the rest of the conference.
December 4th, 2016 at 4:43 PM ^
This is pretty close to accurate. I have the B1G at 3-7 at best.
December 4th, 2016 at 5:06 PM ^
I have the big ten going 4-6 if they get lucky.

This seems pretty accurate but there's no way Minnesota holds Wazzu to 10 points.
December 4th, 2016 at 5:16 PM ^
It is going to be 20 16 - already saw it printed on the commemorative shirts on the Orange Bowl site.
December 4th, 2016 at 5:17 PM ^
OSU has the defense to stop Clemson. It's a good match up for them.
December 4th, 2016 at 4:30 PM ^
B1G a bowl games. Only 2 teams are missing. That quick lame bowl is must watch, ranks with this is lame bowl.
December 4th, 2016 at 4:37 PM ^
With the two left out.
December 4th, 2016 at 4:42 PM ^
MSU, Rutgers, Illinois, Purdue
December 4th, 2016 at 4:56 PM ^
Rutgers doesn't count and Purdue isn't really trying.

I do marvel at how a school that should really be in something like the American Athletic Conference somehow made the Big Ten. They have to be counting their blessings every damn day.
Not angry that we have them, it's more that I'm puzzled.
December 5th, 2016 at 2:35 AM ^
How are you puzzled? Everyone knew the reason from the get go - money, by way of TV markets.
December 4th, 2016 at 4:58 PM ^
that matters.
I'm looking at you, Mork!

Since there is no comet ping pong bowl, the rose bowl will do
